WHAT A YEAR

2022 has been another incredible year for Resource:Art. Wecompletedthefirstfullyear of operation for our new gallery project, Raft of Sanity, participated in two art fairs, launched public art projects, and oversaw anotherspectaculareditionofPLAY/GROUND in a brand new venue, Riverworks. None of it wouldbepossiblewithoutthesupportofour incredible community of artists, curators, collectors, writers, advisors, and art enthusiasts We look forward to another full yearofrobustartexhibitionsandevents

We were thrilled to engage in many wonderfulpartnershipsthisyearincludingour continued collaboration with The Buffalo Institute for Contemporary Art (BICA) for PLAY/GROUND,andanewrelationshipwiththe Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation, placing three unique temporary public artworks at Canalside this summer in and around The Children's Museum. We also worked with NYC based gallery Garvey|Simon onajointpresentationforFutureFair2022.

RAFT OF SANITY

Resource:Art opened a new gallery project Raft of Sanity in September of 2021. We were thrilled to celebrate a very productive and successful first year We worked with exceptionalartiststoputforwardmanyuniqueandthoughtful presentationsinournewvenue

The gallery takes its name from a quote by surrealist painter Dorothea Tanning who famously said , "Art has always been the raft onto which we climb to save our sanity..." This felt especiallyappropriateduringtheheightofapandemic,anda time of great political unrest and social injustice Art has alwaysbeenourraft,andwewereexcitedtofindanewvenue toprovideinspirationandcomfort

Raft of Sanity (The Raft) was founded in September of 2021 with the mission to create connections between artists, collectors, critics, and the community in a welcoming environment which supports artistic excellence.

For

Future Fair took place at The Chelsea IndustrialBuildingMay4–7,2022.

Future Fair 2022, Raft of Sanity partnered with NYC based Garvey|Simon gallery to showcasesculpturesbyRoberleyBellpaired with gouache and oil paintings by Sandy Litchfield We placed works by both artists with new collectors and received coverage by the national publication Artillery Magazine. HAMPTONS FINE ART FAIR

OVERVIEW

For the Hamptons Fine Art Fair 2022, Raft of Sanity partnered with Brooklyn and Sag Harbor based, Curated Gallery to share a presentation of paintings and sculpture by DuayneHatchettandWCMaggio

WC Maggio's work won a coveted Best in Boothaward

The Fair took place at the South Hampton FairgroundsfromJuly14–`7,2022.

PUBLIC ART AT CANALSIDE

Last summer, Resource:Art partnered with The Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation and Canalside to place three new temporary public art projects on their site These works were thoughtfully curated to engage withtheuniquesitesandcreatespecialmemoriesforallvisitors,localsandtouristsalike

OVERVIEW

PLAY/GROUND is a platform for site-specific installationsbycontemporaryartists

The juried art festival that runs over the course of a weekend invites artists to proposesitespecificinstallationsandfavors theexperimental,immersive,andambitious.

This year PLAY/GROUND took place at a brand new venue, Buffalo Riverworks, and hosted new work and performances by 26 differentartists.
