YEAR IN REVIEW exhibitions

Prior to the start of the pandemic, Resource:Art was able to launch two exhibitions in January. The first was our Winter Exhibition of The Corridors Gallery at Hotel Henry, and the second a pop up show to benefit The Women's March hosted at Indigo Gallery.

Following the New York Pause mandate Resource:Art launched an online exhibition and Virtual Studio Visit program simple titled Support.

The Winter edition of our quarterly exhibitions featured work by Kari Achatz, Monica Angle, Kyle Butler, Melora Griffis, Duayne Hatchett, and Joseph Scheer.

A special short run Pop Up exhibition to celebrate The Women's March in Buffalo, NY. A portion of all sales were donated to the Western New York Peace Center.

A virtual exhibition and artist profile project where the work of 40 artists were featured with a portion of all proceeds being donated to the non profit organization of the artist's choosing.

During this difficult year, more than ever, R:A recognized the need to organize and share uplifting creativity and special contemporary art installations with the public.

city-wide art Another of Resource:Art's favorite yearly events is called PLAY/GROUND, a series of sitespecific installations by contemporary artists focusing on the experimental, immersive and ambitious. This event normally takes place indoors, but with COVID-19, PLAY/GROUND took on a new form entirely.

PLAY/GROUND 2020 TRANSITIONING FOR OUR TROUBLED TIMES Transitioning an indoor event with one generous funder, into a citywide all access public event with no start up capital, was a challenge that R:A and their partners at The Buffalo Institute for Contemporary Art met head on. The PLAY/GROUND team secured enough funding from a variety of sponsors to pay 22 artists fees and production costs for their site specific installations.

inside an old high school in Medina, NY. Over the course of 48 hours 7,000 plus people visited the indoor installations, which was no longer viable due to the pandemic. Rather than cancel, with the help of their new partners at BICA, R:A transitioned the event into 22 unique outdoor projects stretched across 10 partner sites in the city of Buffalo, Derby, and Lewiston, NY.
