ARTIST CHECK-IN

THURSDAY EVENING CHECK IN (May 9, 4-7:30PM)- If you signed up for early check in and you’re in booth 101-349, you will check in at 40 West Broad Street, Greenville, SC 29601). If you signed up for early check in and are in booth 401-510, you will check in at the intersection of O’Neal and Main Street (102 Oneal Street, Greenville, SC 29601).

FRIDAY MORNING CHECK IN (May 10, 6-11AM)- The easiest address to enter into GPS is 40 West Broad, Greenville, SC 29601. Check-In is located on West Broad Street at the intersection of Main next to the Peace Center for the Performing Arts. Cars must be removed from the festival site by no later than on 11am on Friday.

PHOTO IDENTIFICATION - Exhibiting Artists identified in the Artisphere application must be present and personally staff their exhibit space during the entire event. No agents, dealers, or representatives may attend the event in place of the artist. Each Exhibiting Artist must personally check in at registration and present their valid driver’s license or passport.

REGISTRATION - At Check-In you will receive a Registration Packet which will include parking instructions, a name badge, and booth sign which includes booth number. Registration packets will only be given to Exhibiting Artists as identified in the Artisphere application.

ARTIST PARKING

CAR REMOVAL After checking-in, you will need to park in front of your booth space, unload, and remove your vehicle from the festival site as quickly as possible to ensure efficient load in for all artists. All cars must be completely removed from the festival site no later than 11am on Friday, May 10.

PARKING Artists will receive parking instructions and parking passes at Check-In. Please pay special attention to your parking passes as you may be assigned to park in two different lots (one on Friday evening, and another on Saturday and Sunday).

ARTIST REPRODUCTION POLICY/ FESTIVAL STANDARDS

1- All work displayed must be original, created and executed by the displaying artists own hand and of professional quality.

2- Photomechanical reproductions of an artist's original work may be present in a small quantity in a single browse bin . The individual prints must be clearly labeled as reproductions. ABSOLUTELY NO REPRODUCTIONS ON THE WALLS OF THE BOOTH! Artist will risk disqualification and immediate ejection from the festival if reproductions are featured on the walls of the booths!

3- Our show is designed for artists & artisans who bring their own original work created and executed by their own hand, and is of professional quality. This work is absolutely limited to the work of a single artists or twoperson team collaboration.

4- Ineligible Items include items made with commercially available molds or patterns or any item produced commercially or by anyone other than the artist. No representatives or dealers may show.

5- Artists bringing ineligible items to the show risk disqualification. Artists violating the rules of this show or who fail to cooperate with the Festival committee will not be permitted to exhibit.

6- All displays will be reviewed by the standards committee at intervals throughout the show for the purpose of being certain that all items in the booth are the same or better quality as the slides submitted. The artists will be required to remove ineligible items based upon the show's standards.

24-hour roving security is onsite overnight. However, Artisphere is not responsible for any damage which may occur to work, equipment, or other material due to rain, wind, fire, theft, etc. Please take necessary precautions to protect and insure personal property.

Please review the enclosed information from the State of South Carolina Department of Revenue regarding the South Carolina Retail License. If you DO NOT HAVE a South Carolina Retail License complete the SCDOR-111 Tax Registration Application online. If you HAVE a South Carolina Retail License, please email the License Number to Amber.Goode@dor.sc.gov or call with questions 864552-4929.

Please also review the ST-3 SC Sales Tax Form. ST-3 SC Sales Tax forms can be mailed to the South Carolina Department of Revenue after the event. You can also complete the form on-line at www.sctax.org under the Sales and Use category. South Carolina sales tax is 6%.

BOOTH SPACES

If you signed up for early check in, you can check in and setup between 5-7:30pm on Thursday, May 9. If you signed up for early check in and you’re in booth 101-349, you will check in at 40 West Broad Street, Greenville, SC 29601). If you signed up for early check in and are in booth 401-510, you will check in at the intersection of O’Neal and Main Street (102 Oneal Street, Greenville, SC 29601). Otherwise, check-In is scheduled for Friday, May 10 from 6am – 11am. Artists may begin checking in at 6am and must Check-In no later than 11am.

Each exhibitor will be provided a space measuring 12'x12' (or 12’x 24’ for double booths) to house a booth structure with dimensions no larger than 10'x10' (10’x 20’ for double booths). Please leave 2' between the back of your booth and the sidewalk curb to avoid water runoff in the event of rain (refer to enclosed diagram).

Please note that accordion style pop up tents are no longer allowed at the festival. Exhibitors will be responsible for providing all booth structures, racks, tables, chairs, display units, weights (40 lbs. minimum per tent leg) or other fixtures suitable for outdoor use.

The booth image you applied with should be representative of the booth quality you will provide at the festival. All work exhibited must be comparable to work shown in booth image. Booth assignments are at the sole discretion of the festival and are not interchangeable. Please note there are no pets allowed on the festival site per the City of Greenville.

ARTIST BOOTH SIGNS AND ARTIST STATEMENT

Artist booth signs will be included in the registration packet. Please display your booth sign and artist statement at the FRONT of your booth. Booth Compliance committee will assess artist booths on Friday, May 10 to ensure all booths meet these requirements.

All work exhibited must be original, handcrafted work produced by the artist. An Artist Statement explaining the process and materials used in exhibited work must be posted at the front of the booth by NOON on Friday, May 10 and must remain posted for the duration of the event. If you provided an artist statement when you accepted your invitation to Artisphere, we will include a laminated copy in your check in packet. The reproduction process must also be disclosed in this statement. A reproduction is defined as any existing work of art that is copied by digital or photographic means and printed on an offset press, a serigraph press, or through a computer by means of an ink jet or electrostatic printer. This definition includes giclees and reproductions with additional enhancements by the artist. All reproductions must be located in browse bins. Walls of artist booths must contain original artwork only!

GIFT CERTIFICATES

Gift certificates will come in increments of $25, $50 and $100. Please collect all Gift Certificates and provide cash back as change if needed. Gift Certificates will be reimbursed by Artisphere on Sunday from 4-6pm in Artist Hospitality.

JUDGING FOR AWARDS

The show will be judged for Award Winners on Friday afternoon beginning at noon. Please be sure that your Booth Sign and Artist Statement are displayed for the judges. $15,000 in prize money will be distributed. Awards will be given to Best in Show, 1st Place 2D, 2nd Place 2D, 1st Place 3D, 2nd Place 3D and four Awards of Excellence and will be awarded at the discretion of the onsite judges. Artisphere jurors, excluding exhibitors, serve as on-site judges. Awards are determined by consensus. Award winners are exempt from jury for Artisphere 2023. Award Winners will be announced, and ribbons and checks will be distributed to Award Winners on Saturday, May 12.

ARTIST HOSPITALITY

BOOTH SITTERS: This year, we are implementing a volunteer text line. You can text and let them know what you are requesting (i.e. bathroom break, snack, meal break, etc.) and a volunteer will be dispatched for you.

ARTIST HOSPITALITY: Artists are welcome to visit Artist Hospitality throughout the weekend to take a break, eat, drink, and relax! Mealtimes are listed on the back of your Artist Badge.

Port-O-Johns are located throughout the festival site. There are several located directly behind Artist Hospitality.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

Please be prepared to withstand RAIN or SHINE by taking necessary precautions to protect your work in inclement weather.

EMERGENCY MESSAGING

In the event of any emergency situation, the City will text each artist with these emergency codes. This emergerncy messaging system will remain in effect thoughout the duration of the festival.

LOADOUT INSTRUCTIONS

At 6pm on Sunday, May 12, Greenville Police will ask festival attendees to clear the streets. At that time, please begin breaking down your booth. Once you have broken down your booth, you will be given an Access Pass by the City of Greenville staff. The Access Pass will allow you on-site with your vehicle when Police determine that streets are clear enough for vehicles to safely pass.

To expedite the load-out process, artists will depart the festival site after breaking down their booths exiting on one of three different side streets (Falls Park Drive, River Street, or Wardlaw Street). Please take note of the exit route that coincides with your booth number.

Artist booths 101-224 load out: Artists will enter on Broad Street and exit on Falls Park Drive.

Artist booths 301-349 load out: Artists will enter on Falls Park Drive and exit on River Street.

Artist booths 401-510 load out: Artists will enter on River Street and exit on O’Neal or Wardlaw.
