In French «amour-propre», literally means love of oneself. We often try to ignore, dismiss, or conceal the aspects of ourselves we are unhappy with. Every day, we grapple with our inner darkness, while our shadows trail behind us like the lengthy trains of elegant gowns. Our bothersome obsession with our flaws weighs us down like unwanted luggage, dragging us into the depths. Doubts suffocate us like clothes that are too tight. Ironically, embracing ourselves in entirety can be an empowering act, leading to the transformation of the aspects of ourselves we are may not be fond of or alternatively, to their embracement.
This collection is about the journey of self-discovery and self-approval that illuminates the preciousness of companionship with oneself. It is not a selfish drive for perfection, rather, it is a creative effort intended to reinstate the wholesome unity with oneself and celebrate it.
