International Students
Cardiff Met is home to students from across the globe, and has an established reputation for international student support. International students studying at the University benefit from everything Cardiff, Wales and the rest of the UK have to offer.
Wherever you have completed your school education, the Admissions Team at the University will be able to provide guidance on entrance requirements for the course your looking to study. This includes both academic qualifications, and English Language Requirements. You can find specific information about your country on the international pages of our website.
Global Student Advisory Service
As an international student studying at Cardiff Met, you’ll have access to the Global Student Advisory Service. They are a team of friendly and knowledgeable staff who offer a range of services, providing all the advice and support that you might need when living and studying in the UK.
When you arrive in the UK, you will be invited to an induction event which will take place at the start of your course. During induction, you will meet the Global Student Advisory Service team, other new students and provided with lots of information to help you settle into life at Cardiff.

During your studies there will be several ways for you to make contact with the service for help and support. The team are based Monday – Friday at the Global Lounge on the Llandaff campus for drop in queries. Students can also make bookable appointments for more complex queries. If you are based at the Cyncoed campus, the team can arrange to meet you there. You can also contact the team by telephone or email.

The team can provide services such as:
• Immigration advice
• Accommodation advice
• Academic skills advice
• Tips for managing your money
• Settling into the UK and offering help with opening a bank account, registering with a doctor
• Staying safe in the UK
• Global Opportunities (studying, volunteering and working abroad)


• General welfare support
In addition to general advice and support, the team also offers a social programme which includes day trips to various places across the UK which are very popular amongst students. The team also are responsible for arranging Cardiff Met’s annual Global Week event which celebrates the cultural diversity of Cardiff Met.
