IN CASE YOU MISSED IT COVID-19 VACCINATION TAX CREDIT AVAILABLE FOR BUSINESSES

Small businesses can now receive a tax credit for providing employees with paid leave to receive and recover from a COVID-19 vaccine, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) reports.

Organizations with fewer than 500 employees can receive the tax credit, which covers up to $511 per day for each vaccinated employee. According to recent SHRM research, 11 percent of employed Americans say they would consider getting the vaccine if their employer offered up to $150, and 21 percent would consider getting the vaccine if offered more than $150.

SBA ANNOUNCES NEW EIDL LOAN

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has launched a new round of Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) assistance for businesses hit most severely by the economic effects of COVID-19.

The new round of assistance, called “Supplemental Targeted Advances,” will provide $5 billion in additional assistance to 1 million small businesses and nonprofit organizations.

Applications will be processed on a firstcome, first-served basis, and eligible businesses must be located in low-income communities that suffered greater than 50 percent economic loss, with 10 or fewer employees.

CATALYTIC CONVERTERS TOP 2020’S MOST COMMON REPAIRS

CarMD.com, an automotive diagnostic data and business solutions company, found that catalytic converter replacement was 2020’s most common repair.

The company’s annual CarMD Vehicle Health Index additionally found that model year 2007 vehicles were the most likely to need check engine light repairs, with nearly 10 percent of all repairs coming from the 2007 model year.
