Part of a new WA regional touring program called Freighting Ideas by ART ON THE MOVE and the Art Gallery of WA, the project involves the local community in developing arts activities and participating in broader conversations around art, alongside touring capsules of works from AGWA. Funded by the State Government’s Regional Exhibition Touring Boost, How Did I Get Here? is the first of two capsule exhibitions travelling the State under the new pilot program.
In line with the community engagement model, Famous Sharron, the Face of WA, has put her own spin on the project, joining as audience ambassador for the project and producing her first book Famous Sharron’s Guide to Famous (and Not So Famous) Art. Aimed at breaking down barriers around art education, the tongue-in-cheek resource demonstrates simple ways to enjoy the experience of viewing art.
