wned by contemporary impressionist painter Rick Reinert and his wife, Ann, Reinert Fine Art showcases more than 60 regional and nationally acclaimed classical painters, as well as figurative and abstract sculptors. Each gallery location is thoughtfully curated to appeal to both the connoisseur and casual collector.
The owners are pleased to present a collection of diverse paintings and sculpture that range in style from traditional to impressionistic as well as abstract. Celebrating March 2nd Texas Independence with two big as Texas shows: Friday March 6th opens two shows at the gallery in conjunction with Fredericksburg’s popular First Friday Art Walk: American Impressionist Society’s annual “Impressions” show features a wide range of activities from artist demonstrations, catered reception, symposium and competition. And “Facing Fredericksburg” RS Hanna gallery artist Pam Ingalls One Woman Show featuring portraits of Fredericksburg’s townspeople in her vibrant, impressionistic realism with more than 40 oil portraits of Texas as seen through the faces of our town. Many artists will be in attendance to enjoy live music, wine & cheese at the reception from 4-8 p.m.

ounded by Linda Ross, L Ross Gallery has been a stalwart member of the Memphis fine arts scene for over a decade. With Linda’s retirement at the end of 2018, the gallery came under the new ownership of Laurie Brown. As part of that ownership change, the gallery will be transitioning its name over the course of this year to Sylvan Fine Arts. However, it will continue to focus on contemporary fine art from local, regional, and national artists. Drawing from memories of his childhood in Northwest Georgia, a place he went or a color he saw could be the catalyst that sets the process in motion. His paintings are reminiscent of a long-gone style found in the brooding landscapes of 16th Century Spanish artists and the shadowy, gilt-framed works of 19th Century Romanticism.

"I was raised with the discipline of dance. Leaving dance as an adult left me with a void that was more than physical. After exploring many forms of physical activities, I was introduced to yoga and knew instantly what I was seeking was within this practice. Yoga is a philosophy, a science, and an art. It is also a therapy. I began to develop a positive sense of well-being and a reality that my reaction is the only true armor I have against internal and global crisis. On September 11th this sense of well-being was deeply shaken and replaced with feelings

inings Gallery is pleased to feature the works of Chad Awalt in April, 2020. His stunningly detailed wood sculptures typically originate with a casting of a live model. Once the casting of the human form is made, Awalt can take as much time as he needs to carefully craft each of his life-like works.
In his Atlanta studio, Chad has quite the collection of logs, most of which he gets after storms. He laughs, relaying that almost everyone he knows calls him when they see a downed tree. “I look for natural distress and character in the wood. I want something that has pattern and detail I can incorporate into the figure. It needs to accentuate the figure instead of being a distraction.” Once the rough profile is cut out with a chainsaw, Chad begins sculpting it down to its final form. When close to finished, the wood is kiln-dried. “If anything was going to happen to it, it would happen in the kiln. That’s the most stress that wood will ever endure. Every once in a while, it ruins the piece, but that’s only happened a few times.” After the kiln, Chad spends many hours sanding and finishing each piece taking it down to a highly polished surface to highlight the beautiful grain. All of the detail has to be done with hand tools, chisels, and shapers. While some of Chad’s sculptures have colored resin or gold leaf added to them, most allow the wood and the form to blend together without embellishment. A
s a child, Tatiana Kaupp, the daughter of anthropologists performing field work in Mexico, explored workspaces and engaged with folk art makers. In addition to attending colorful ceremonies, celebrations and fantastical dances, Tati, as she is known, interacted with beautiful and whimsical objects in her parents’ home. These early experiences were instrumental in enhancing her sense of wonder in art and the process of creating art.
Magical realism, the transformational qualities of an art object and its function, the liveliness of the possibilities of art and art making, the value an object can hold on many levels…these ideas inform Tati’s work today. Color, pattern, narrative, function and the environments they inhabit are at the core of her work. Her personal art vocabulary comes through whether she is working in oil, watercolors, hand building in clay or throwing, working with wood in wall sculptures or furniture. Tati is interested in exploring materials and methods to create art pieces that transform the magical realism of her youth into magical abstraction. Tati’s Opening with her Vessel Series at Canary Gallery began February 6; the exhibit runs through March 12. cclaimed southern artist Rolland Golden has earned a place in the canon of American masters alongside notable regionalists Thomas Hart Benton, Grant Wood and Andrew Wyeth. In 1966, Golden was selected to represent American realist painting on a tour of Soviet Russia. During his career, which has spanned six decades, Golden has won dozens of awards and is featured in numerous corporate and museum collections throughout the country. In 2014 Golden received one of the prestigious “Louisiana Legends” awards. The same year, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art mounted an important retrospective of Golden’s work, and several of his paintings were added to their permanent collection. His distinctive style fuses abstract realism, impressionism and surrealism into a potent dreamlike atmosphere. His work is both personal and universal, timely and timeless – a true American classic. illy Solitario is a New Orleans-based artist and the owner of Billy Solitario Fine Art located on Magazine Street in Uptown New Orleans. The gallery features Billy’s original oil paintings and drawings. Billy has lived nearly his entire life near the Gulf of Mexico, spending his childhood in Gauthier, Mississippi. Growing up in the Gulf South has had a large influence on the style and subject matter of his paintings. His landscapes find beauty among the sand dunes, coastal savannahs, barrier islands, and cumulus clouds along the Gulf Coast and his still lifes reflect coastal foods such as crab, oysters, and creole tomatoes in a playful scale and with great detail. orn and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, Barbara has painted since the age of fourteen. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from Auburn University Montgomery in 1987, she worked primarily in the banking industry while pursuing art as an avocation with the hope of eventually becoming a full-time artist. In 2010 her dream of painting full-time became a reality. Her art has been exhibited in juried competitions across the country with the American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America, and Women Painters of the Southeast. A
nderson Scott who recently passed away, was both attorney and a published and exhibited photographer. He received his B.A. in English Literature in 1984 from Davidson College, and received his MFA from Yale University (including a Cheeny Fellowship and Departmental Prize for Excellence) in 1987. He received his law degree from Emory University in Atlanta in 1993.

He was a proliic photographer. A monograph of his photographic work was published by the University of Chicago Press in 2013. His work is held in numerous private, corporate, and museum collections both great and small including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, CA; the National Museum of American History, DC; the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University, MA; the Baltimore Museum of Art, MD; and the International Center for Photography, NY. A trademark of Mr. Scott’s style, regardless of subject, is his ability to capture humor and sadness that can simultaneously exist in a scene. One of his more recent bodies of work centered around beautifully lit interiors in establishments that once knew a more vibrant time. ennifer Solt is a self-taught abstract artist painting primarily in acrylic and ink. Her love of fluid form, color, and light combine to create a unique, compelling visual statement in each of her abstract works. She finds inspiration in the everyday beauty of nature and architecture found in Alabama and the Southeastern United States.
Her abstract ink pieces are poured on yupo paper and framed in 30mm thick lucite blocks. These are called “organic” in that the flow is organic, not overly manipulated. The acrylic paintings are mixed media meditative pieces, many of which include a blessing or proverb torn from an old Bible. She sometimes uses gold or silver leaf, or gold/silver acrylic paint to add visual interest to these neutrals.
