Lorraine has always been a deeply philosophical being, who can ponder on almost anything in order to create. However her deepest inspiration comes from nature and its mysterious workings. An idea can be born from something as simple as a leaf, and then evolve into a metaphorical narrative on the meaning of life.

There is also an intangible ‘spirit’ led aspect to her painting - she can reach euphoric states of mind very easily, simply via exercise and connecting to the beauty of the natural world, and this euphoria translates through her paintings.

In her early art career, she focussed on realistic drawings, and she still gains immense satisfaction out of intricately rendering the details of her observations, but finds that painting is now far more about expressing her feelings and perspective on life.

Lorraine is a born artist who’s artistic expression has found many forms, those being in the past as a professional dancer, and being an artist is to her, simply a way of being and also about having an insatiable desire to express thoughts and feelings that reside deep within.

She states that being an artist is a cathartic process and perhaps also a way of reaching out to find your tribe - there are few things more heart warming than having somebody profoundly resonate with something you have created.
