Dreamy inner worlds fuel Mauro Benedetti's Abstracts

Italian painter Mauro Benedetti lives in Tuscany and works with bright acrylics on canvas. He has contributed to many exhibitions, art fairs and art auctions, and his paintings have been bought by collectors in Germany, France, Spain, Portugal and Holland.

His artworks have been so popular that they have also been applied to many fashion items such as bags, T-shirts, canvas shoes, belts and suitcases - which they’re pretty suitable for, as you can see here. The artworks have an adorable naivety to them, and the style is reminiscent of the circular elements and colours of the famous artwork - The Kiss, by Gustav Klimt.

Mauro Benedetti was born in 1947 in the Maremma, a little known national park area which has been described as a magical land with a fascinating history that dates back to the Etruscans. There is a very relaxed pace of life there, and some spectacular views.

Mauro has spent much of his life residing in a farmhouse between Capalbio and the Argentario. He says that he is inspired by the green nature, the sea, the horses and animals.

Since Mauro speaks only Italian and no English at all, we have translated the following passage where he explains his approch to his art in his typically flowerly and romanitic language.

As a painter I have always thought about having my dreamy inner world, losing very often the relationship with reality. Almost a continuous dream that I live in, the real fact made up of images, emotions and sounds.

And here it was easy to implement objects, things, a symbolic character, that resulted in the abstract, hermetically, incapable and so transient. The memory that remains difficult to achieve in real life, it was easy to put ino paint, as real life is is suspended without bond, weight and substance,

Life seems to have little importance, the thoughts are fleeting, I live not to live, love passes as falling leaves swept away in the wind.
