Himalayan Children’s Fund News Dear Friends, The summer retreat has concluded along with the online teachings given by HH Karmapa. Grade school classes continue (online) for lay students and in person for the monks and nuns, each in their own location. It is encouraging to know that vaccines are more readily available now in Nepal, and more people have been vaccinated. The monastery and school still remain vigilant and follow all protocols carefully. We are happy to report that Rinpoche remains well in Namo Buddha and has continued to give reading transmissions over zoom, thanks to the good work of the newly formed Thrangu Media. Thank you for your kind support. Please enjoy and share the newsletter! ~ Debra Ann

SMD Even though there are no lay students at the school, there is plenty of activity at SMD. Since the young monks live on campus they have daily in-person classes, and teachers and other staff are hard at work. Including the cooks and the new SMD Senior volunteers ~ recent grads who are taking a gap year and giving service before continuing their education.
Tamdin Tsering, Tsamcho Lama, Sushmita Rai, Tsering Yudon Lama and Tenzin Norbu Lama look forward to learning new skills as they work in the school of ce and help with the monks.
Kalen Dai Adhikari, Peter Tamang and Buddha Tamang have remained devoted cooks throughout the pandemic!
