SMD Boarding School has just completed 1st term exams and Yarne, (the annual rainy season retreat for nuns and monks) is in full swing and will conclude on September 11. Contributions can still be made to support the retreat for any of the monasteries.
We have updated our Financial Reports page on the HCF website to include the distributions made for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, along with a PDF of our Audited Financial Statement. Thanks to all of our devoted sponsors and donors, the total distributed was $623,840.00!

Results day for the first term exams was a time for many parents and other family members to attend and meet with the students and their teachers.

SUPPORT NEEDED FOR YELLOW HATS
Worn by the monks and nuns during various pujas, such as the annual Thrangu Tsedrup, these yellow hats are integral to the ceremonies. Mr. Tsering (below) follows tradition, making hats by hand, and is the only source for the authentic hats in Boudha. In order to have enough hats for all, an order for an additional 300 hats was recently placed with Mr. Tsering. At approximately $8.00 per hat $2,400.00 is needed. SMDBS
Delayed by rain and other projects at Namo Buddha, the long awaited painting and repair, (both inside and out) for the branch school hostel and offices has been completed.
