Himalayan Children’s Fund News Dear Friends, Last month’s challenge grant of $10,000.00 for SMD Boarding School was met and surpassed, giving us a total of $20,322.59. The SMD staff was delighted to hear the news, and we are deeply grateful for the kindness and generosity of all of our wonderful donors. Thank you! Nuns and monks are about mid-way into the summer retreat and we have some Yarne photos from a few of the monasteries for you.

Please consider giving HCF a boost by taking a few moments to give us a review (5 star?) on Guidestar through Great Non-Pro ts. Thrangu Rinpoche is doing well in Namo Buddha and continues to give reading transmissions over Zoom.

NAR SATEK As we mentioned last month, Nepal is dealing with the aftermath of disastrous ooding and landslides. People in Manang are without power, safe drinking water, medical supplies and other necessities. Nar Satek Monastery has also had some damage. Supplies can only be delivered by helicopter and Thrangu Monastery has been very active in providing aid for the people of Nar and Phu as well as the Nar Health post. Acharya Pasang Wangdu has provided a video of the ight into Nar. Hover and click to view.

SMD AND TARA ABBEY Due to the pandemic, last year’s SMD volunteers have continued to serve. At Tara Abbey, the nuns recently held a farewell party to say goodbye to Phur Diki Sherpa Norzin Yonjan, and Tsering Dolma, thanking them for their wholehearted service, which enabled the small nuns to continue with their education. Recent graduates will soon be reassigned.
