Himalayan Children’s Fund News Dear Friends, Thrangu Rinpoche’s schools rely a great deal on sponsorship support. Of course, this does not provide all the funding needed, but in addition to being a reliable stream of funding, it is also important in other ways. Sponsoring a lay child’s education or the life-long training and education of a nun or monk, establishes a connection ~ a relationship. Regardless of whether or not they ever meet or even write to each other, the sponsor and sponsee have a heart connection and remembrance of each other that crosses space, time and culture. It is nurturing to both and this experience is shared with others. We like to say, ‘It brings joy to the spirit!” So you may have guessed from this introduction that there is a great and growing need for more sponsors! SMD has many new children enrolled this year along with continuing students who are without sponsorship support. The same is true for SMDBS, Tara Abbey and the various monasteries. Please consider sponsoring if you are not already, and if you are, please share your stories with those who might like to become involved. We view our sponsors as our most important and best fundraisers. If sponsorship does not appeal, another option is a recurring monthly donation for general support of SMD, SMDBS, Thrangu Tara Abbey, or any of the monasteries. Thank you for your kind support. Please enjoy the many sweet photos we have of the activities and celebrations which occurred during the past month. ~ Debra Ann
