Himalayan Children’s Fund News Dear Friends, The month of June was one of great joy and blessing at Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery in Namo Buddha, as 2 years of dedicated effort culminated in the consecration of Thrangu Rinpoche’s Kudung/reliquary stupa, the unveiling of the Collected Works of Thrangu Rinpoche and the Annual Thrangu Tsedrup. PREPARATION:There were several stages of pujas to ll and complete the stupa. First was puri cation, blessing, and placement of the rolled mantras and tsatsas, then the sokshing (tree of life), jewel vases and other special objects. Next was the puja to install 2 chakras, puri ed tsok offering, 8 auspicious symbols, jewels, the Kangyur, incense powders and saffron (almost 650 items) including precious relics from all four Kagyu schools, and of course, the most important elements placed inside the stupa were Thrangu Rinpoche’s relics. CONSECRATION: The week long Chakrasamvara puja took place in the new, stupa

shrine hall while the Guru Bumtsok, Mahakala Bumtsok, and Tara Bumtsok were done at the same time in other parts of the monastery. Lodro Nyima Rinpoche came from Tibet on the 7th and Zuri Rinpoche from Bhutan on the 8th to offer blessings and join Chöje Lama and Tulku Damchö in leading the Khenpos, Lamas, and other monastics in the daily puja. Kyabgon Goshir Gyaltsab Rinpoche arrived on the 9th to preside over the remainder of the puja and the nal consecration took place on Saga Dawa, June 11. Precious ringsel relics of Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche were also displayed in the receiving room of his house and more than one thousand faithful devotees, both lay and monastic, gathered to pay respects. Visitors received tsatsas made from Rinpoche’s bone relics and blessed substances. Hover for video

Thrangu Rinpoche’s precious collected works have been gathered, edited and printed in the traditional Tibetan book style. On June 12, the unveiling of the 32 volumes containing 646 works in 27 sections took place in the main shrine hall at Namo Buddha. Goshir Gyaltsab Rinpoche presided over the event which included speeches by the Rinpoches, Tulkus, Khenpos and Lamas of the monastery as well as representatives from other monasteries, lineages and the Nepal Buddhist Federation. The ceremony commenced with the anthem of Vajra Vidya Institute, followed by a video message from His Holiness the Gyalwang Karmapa, advice from Gyaltsab Rinpoche and debates by the shedra students of Tara Abbey and VVI. Copies of the collected works were presented to the guests, heads of monasteries, monastery representatives, and libraries, along with introductory booklets to the collected works.
