VAJRA VIDYA INSTITUTE In May, the monks of VVI participated in the observance of Vesak (Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and parinirvana) at the Mahabodhi Temple in Sarnath. Monks and nuns from different buddhist traditions shared in the day of prayers and lectures. A rare ceremonial procession brought the sacred Buddha relics (enshrined at the temple) out for public veneration. In the evening, Khenpo Gendun was one of several speakers giving public dharma talks to the 2,000 attendees. Hover and click for videos.
