PHENDE CLINIC UPDATE & APPRECIATION
Robin Koju, staff technician in the new Phende lab.
The installation of the balcony cover for the Phende Clinic at Namo Buddha is nearly complete. The UPBC materials used are sound and heat proof and will provide much needed protection for patients waiting for their consultation or treatment. The last step is to attach a water collection gutter which will provide water for use in the toilets. We are grateful to our donors who made this possible!
CURRENT NEEDS: TARA ABBEY What can be done with old monastic robes? Recycle the fabric! Khenpo Chonyi has a brilliant plan to recycle old robes while contributing to the local community. He would like to hire tailors to repurpose the fabric into bags and other items that can be sold. We would like to provided 2 sewing machines, ($160.00 each) and a tailor’s salary ($70.00 to $80.00 a month). To support at any amount: Designate: TTA sewing MONK SPONSORSHIP Whether monastic or lay, boys lag behind girls in sponsorship at the monasteries and the schools. Equality is the same when there is need and the boys need just as much help and opportunity as the girls. We have so many monks without sponsors which is a difficult situation for the monastery. Basic sponsorship for a monk is $240.00 a year, a monk attending school (SMD or SMDBS) needs $480.00 and a shedra monk needs $600.00. General support and sponsorship are equally helpful. Please visit our sponsorship page on the website for more information. https://www.himalayanchildrensfund.org/sponsorship If you wish to offer general support: Designate: Monk support
