Himalayan Children’s Fund News Dear Friends, With the arrival of lay students at SMD, the young monks living at the school since March 2020 have returned with their teachers to the Boudha monastery to continue their studies. New routines are being settled into and every precaution is still adhered to by all. January brought annual exams to Pullahari, the Annual Kagyu Gonchö Chemo to VVI and Tara Abbey, along with the Winter Dharma Gathering and Kagyu Mönlam. All monasteries are participating and attending a Yogacharya teaching with HH Karmapa every evening by live webcast. Outgoing mail in Nepal is still unavailable, so for those of you who sponsor, we appreciate your patience and understanding in not receiving your handmade letters from the children, nuns, and monks for so long. Hopefully, we will not have to wait another year! Thank you for your kind support. Please enjoy and share the news. ~ Debra Ann
SMD Nyerpa, Palden Tashi, gives a thumbs up as the HCF sponsored playground station is installed at SMD ~ after a 2 year delay! Many thanks to all who contributed during the match. Hover and click for video.
NAMO BUDDHA The rooftop renovation of Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery in Namo Buddha has been completed and the staff has shared a photo of Thrangu Rinpoche admiring a well done job. We also are pleased to provide a few recent photos by Karma Changchup. An arial view of of Namo Buddha sitting above the clouds, a recent (and rare) occurrence of snowfall (with video), and a clear mountain view after the winter storm.
