Himalayan Children’s Fund News Dear Friends, Our last newsletter was primarily related to SMD activities, so this month we are sharing stories and photos of the recent monastic activities in Nepal. The 16th Thrangu Tsedrup Puja is currently in progress at Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery, Namo Buddha. With COVID restrictions lifted this year, lay practitioners are able to participate again alongside the nuns and monks. Our fundraising goal of $10,000.00 for Phende Clinic was met and doubled in a matter of days! At this time, it is not possible to state how much was raised, as donations are still being received. Your enthusiasm and devoted support are to be admired. With respect, we offer a deep bow of gratitude. Please enjoy and share the newsletter. ~ Debra Ann * Amazon shoppers ~ please remember to choose Himalayan Children’s fund as your preferred charity. Amazon Smile. HCF VOLUNTEER STAFF CHANGES We are saying farewell to Maggie Spickert-Ammons with great appreciation for her time and effort in support of HCF. Maggie will be be giving birth to her rst child in December, so we wish her well and would love to see her return to HCF in the future! Please meet Tsewang Lama ~ our new Social Media Coordinator A note from Tsewang I am one of the lucky recipients of Thrangu Rinpoche's generosity and blessing. I was a student at Shree Mangal Dvip School until 2003. Upon graduation, I served for a year as the Director's Assistant at SMD until I left to study at Red Cross Nordic United World College. After that I continued with my studies (Bachelor's and Master's) at St. Lawrence University. I currently work as the Coordinator of International Student Services at SLU. I am excited to volunteer with HCF and I look forward to engaging the next generation of HCF supporters through social media. This is a small, but impactful way to expand on the exceptional work of HCF.
