St Mary’s Sprotbrough MU’s Spring Cream Tea a huge success!

St Mary’s Sprotbrough Mothers’ Union Branch held a Spring Cream Tea recently to raise funds for AFIA (Away from It All holidays). As our photograph shows, it was very well attended and in the two hours it was held over seventy cream teas were made and served with an impressive £720.00 raised! Sales on various stalls contributed to this total. Homemade cakes performed well as always and a new winner this year was the mystery gift stall! It was good to see so much support from the community for such a worthy cause; a most enjoyable afternoon for all!

She's majestic, she's captivating, she's adorable, she's... basically a big puppy dog. She's Coco!

Coco wasted absolutely no time in solidifying her place in the hearts of the people that have had the pleasure to meet her. With her charming, playful and adoring nature, it's hard not to fall head over heels for this big bundle of fluff.

Coco hasn't been dealt the best cards in life up to now. She fell pregnant at a young age and gave birth a litter of gorgeous little pups. However, still being a pup herself, she was not the best equipped to deal with her little nuggets, in spite of her best efforts. She has since been given the space she needed to live her life freely and the personality that greeted us falls nothing short of amazing.

A beacon of love and adoration that wishes for nothing less than the longest cuddles, biggest kisses and the most enthusiastic booty scratches. However, due to the false start of her adolescence, Coco can very occasionally find herself getting caught up in her anxieties. She's looking for a patient family that can help guide her into adulthood with a reassuring hand to help her become the best girl she can be.

Coco has proven herself to be rather sociable when out and about with other dogs however due to her needs, we believe her to be best as the only pet at the moment. But she would enjoy making a few doggy pals when out on walkies. She would be better suited to a household with children 14+ who are confident with bigger, bouncier dogs.

RICHMOND HILL PRIMARY ACADEMY

Easter Extravaganza

Before the recent holiday, our Easter extravaganza event in school was fantas c. We had learning assemblies from each year group, Easter egg displays and some amazing Easter bonnets.

Sports Experience

Our Key Stage 1 Dodgeball team had their first compe on experience at Leger Sport and had a brilliant day.

Singing Success

Our Rose Learning Trust Choir, which holds four members from each of our Trust schools, gained first place at the Don Valley Fes val. We are so proud of Sophie, Grace, Eliza, and Ember represen ng Richmond Hill.

The Great Outdoors!

We would like to take this opportunity to showcase our new EYFS (Early Years) Outdoor Provision area which has had a much needed re-vamp, over the Easter holidays. We want to thank all parents/families who donated items/money to support this project, we really appreciate it! The children’s faces were a picture when they saw it!

Look at our refurbished Mud Kitchen that was donated by one of our families, doesn’t it look amazing! The children have been busy making mud pies and cooking up a storm.

The car wash and petrol sta on area has been extremely popular with the children - the cars have been zooming round the track to get washed and filled up. Happy driving!

An extra special thank you to families who donated towards developing our Richmond Reading Den. We have a new wheelbarrow that has turned into our ‘Book Barrow’ which the children just love wheeling around and the fairies from the fairy garden are busy keeping an eye on anyone who comes to read a story.

What fun we can have with water! Our Nursery children just love making a splash with this new piece of equipment.

DONCASTER CANCER

DETECTION TRUST

Here we are, well into Spring and we hope by the time you read this that warm sunshine is the norm after what seems like months of rain!

We are delighted to say we have donated half the cost of a Nasendoscopy system (£35,000) to Doncaster Royal Infirmary, with DRI paying the remainder. This system will support their Speech and Language therapists in undertaking examination of the nose, throat and voice box and is a test that is used to identify cancers and support patients who have had cancer.

We have been very fortunate in receiving money from two recent wills. We are in talks with DRI as to other equipment they need and we will bring you news of this hopefully next month.

In the meantime we are very grateful to all our fundraisers who do a tremendous job in raising money on our behalf. Some of you do energetic sports for sponsorship, others take a more leisurely approach. Whatever you do on our behalf we are really grateful. If you could send us a photograph with a short write-up we will do our best to include it on our website.

Our details are: 22 Wood Street, Doncaster DN1 3LW (entrance by the side of Kerry Gough Florists), first floor (lift available), Room 104. Tel. 01302 325029. Email: info@dcdt.co.uk. Website: dcdt.co.uk. As the office is not fully manned it is best to Email or telephone in advance if you are thinking of coming to see us.

Our charity believes local money should help local people. All money raised goes towards equipment for our local hospitals. None of our staff are paid, we are all volunteers.
