Welcome to the November issue of Crowle & Ealand Arrow November brings Bonfire night and the annual bonfire at the Epworth Show ground, Epworth.

Please support your local event, monies raised go to charities in the Isle. Remember to keep safe and here is a little reminder of the safety of sparklers!

I do hope there are lots of local events, if you choose to have your bonfire and fireworks at home, remember stay safe and abide by the fireworks safety code!

Remember fireworks can be scary for pets, keep them safe!

Isle of Axholme News Crowle & District WI meet at 7.15pm on the 1st Thursday of the month at Crowle Community Hub, Market Hall, Crowle DN17 4LA. We have members from all over North and South Axholme and beyond and always give a warm welcome to new members. Our 5th October meeting was Eyes Down for a game of Bingo. (sorry no money prizes) but lots fun and November meeting is Iris Starkey with Monologues and funny stories.

Come along to any of our meetings and give us a go, we are very friendly. Non-Crowle WI members and visitors £4.50.

Did you know that Humber & Wolds Rural Action delivers a Voluntary Car Service across North Lincolnshire, which helps people with genuine transport difficulties get to important appointments such as doctors, hospitals, dentists, clinics, support groups, local shops etc.

On behalf of the show committee, we would like to say thanks to everyone who helped to make the 2023 event such an enjoyable event. It was great to see so many people taking part in all the activities that were on offer that day, even the weather was kind to us.

We can only put the show together with the help of the wonderful volunteers, sponsors and supporters to who we are grateful. To everyone who entered classes, set up the field, cleaned up afterwards etc thank you.

There are some great photos from the day on our website www.crowleshow.org.uk Plans are being discussed for the 2024 show so we would like to invite anyone who might want to get involved to come along to the AGM on Monday October 23rd at 7pm at the Red Lion in Crowle.

Isle Group of the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust Owls with Attitude by Derek Scott Thursday November 2nd at 7.30pm On Thursday November 2nd we will be having an illustrated talk titled Owls with Attitude. Our speaker is local naturalist and photographer Derek Scott. The talk will cover owls from several countries as well as the UK, illustrated with excellent photographs.

We meet at Belton All Saints Centre (Church Hall), Stocks Hill, Belton, DN9 1PE Everyone is welcome, you don't have to be a member of the Wildlife Trust so please come along and join us.
