Welcome to the May issue of the Crowle and Ealand Arrow! I hope you have browsed our new website which is now live, If not take a look at www.arrowpublications.co.uk, I’m sure you will agree it’s a lot easier to navigate on your smart devices. Lots going on in the local community this year, I do hope you have some time to see what the local villages have to offer over the next few months, The Old Rectory in Epworth always has some fascinating events scheduled. There is a flower festival with a twist at the end of May. For full details see page 14. I had the honour of meeting Gillian and some of the staff at the Old Rectory last month, and I must say what a wonderful job they all do. If you have never visited the Rectory, make sure to put it on your list this Summer, you wont be disappointed. Of course July brings the annual RESCUE DAY, an event not to missed. The date for your diary this year is Saturday 13th July. If you haven't managed to attend, make sure this year is the year you go. Enjoy the read and please note the deadline for the June issue is Friday 10th May for distribution by Friday 31st May. If you are interested in advertising or simply emailing me some community news, please be in touch before the date.

The Appointment of Mr Damien Keogh as the next Principal of The Axholme Academy On behalf of the Governing Board I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Damien Keogh as the next Principal of The Axholme Academy. Mr Keogh will take up the Principal position from 01 September 2019 following the retirement of our well respected and long-standing Principal, Joe Sellars. Mr Keogh’s appointment follows an extensive two-day assessment centre in March. He joins us with five years’ experience as a Head Teacher leading the St Peter and St Paul Catholic Voluntary Academy in Lincoln, and with twenty-two years’ experience in education. We look forward to welcoming Mr Keogh to our Academy. Dawn Da Costa, Chair of Governors Mr Keogh says, “I am proud to have been appointed as the new Principal of The Axholme Academy. The Academy is a wonderful community with strong values and I am looking forward to getting to know and working closely with Mr Sellars, staff and Governors over the coming months so I am fully prepared for September 2019. I am also looking forward to getting to know students and parents and will make myself available in September to meet as many parents as possible. I wish Mr Sellars and all at The Axholme Academy every success for the rest of this academic year.”
