Isle of Axholme News The folk dances run by local folk dance band Lys St Georges continue this spring as follows: Thursday 6 March Thursday 13 March Thursday 20 March Thursday 27 March Thursday 3 April They are all in Westwoodside Village Hall, starting at 2.30pm and lasting till 4pm.

On Thursday March 6th 2025 at 7.30pm Gill Walsh will be coming to talk to us about the wildlife she has seen and photographed when she has visited the Forest of Dean and the Cotswolds. Gill gave us an excellent talk a few years ago about her travels around Lincolnshire and so this should be something to look forward to.

For your diary our future meetings will be:April 3rd - Wildlife of Florida by Matthew Capper May 1st - An evening with Matt Cox We meet at Belton All Saints Centre (Church Hall), Stocks Hill, Belton, DN9 1PE Everyone is welcome, you don't have to be a member of the Wildlife Trust, so please come along and join us. ISLE PLAY IT music group based in Epworth is having an ‘open afternoon’ for

“Trolleybuses and More” A virtual tour of Sandtoft Trolleybus Museum from a comfy seat. The Museum has a worldrenowned collection of trolleybuses, plus old toys, cycles and more. What will you remember…..?

Doors will open at 7pm, when refreshments will be served, and the talk will begin at 7.30. There will be a £3 entry charge per head, to cover glass of wine, tea or coffee.

Congratulations to South Axholme Student Adam Crossfield who competed in his first international competition at the weekend - the Keumgang Open in Lommel, Belgium.

With almost 900 competitors across Europe, the standard was high. Adam won his first match 2-0 and gained some great experience in his second match against the eventual gold medalist Adam who lives in Hatfield, Doncaster has been training for four years and has now advanced to the advance level of fighting at Scorpion taekwondo in Doncaster.

This kind of achievement, especially in international competition, speaks to his dedication and skill.

It’ll be exciting to see how he progresses in his taekwondo career!
