For four decades, the Auckley Show has been a highlight of our community calendar, bringing together residents of all ages for a day of celebration, competition, and camaraderie.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of this cherished event, a testament to our enduring spirit and shared heritage. Congratulations to everyone who has been involved in this event past and present and long may it continue.

SATURDAY 17TH AUGUST

August is here which means we have the Saturday evening concerts at Yorkshire Wildlife Park to look forward to. This series of musical extravaganzas is not just about enjoying fantastic performances; it’s about experiencing the magic of music in a gorgeous outside setting with our friends, family and neighbours. I hope you get to see at least one of them and boogie the night away under the stars, right on our doorstep.

The September issue deadline for adverts and content is Wednesday 21st August. The Arrow will be delivered by 1st September 2024.

CANTLEY WITH BRANTON PC LITTER PICK

The next Branton litter pick is arranged for Saturday 28th September 2024. We will meet at 9.30am at Kilham Hall in Branton, near the children's play park. All equipment is provided and the litter pick is often finished by 11.30am. Everyone is welcome to attend but children must be accompanied. We hope to see you there.

HAPPY 15th BIRTHDAY

Since Branton Coffee Club first formed back in 2009, it has been more than just a place to enjoy a cup of coffee. It has become a vital part of our community, where friendships blossom, ideas are exchanged, and support networks are built. Whether you’re a longtime resident or a newcomer, the Coffee Club offers a warm welcome and a sense of belonging. In addition to the community spirit, the club members have raised over £1250 for local charities over the last 12 months alone.

Located in the heart of Branton at Kilham Hall, the Coffee Club atmosphere is always lively, filled with the buzz of conversation and there is always an abundance of cakes, tea and coffee on offer. None of this would be possible without the incredible committee of volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to keeping the Coffee Club running smoothly. Local residents, Noreen Pearson and Barbara Fussey have been on the committee since day one, they have sadly lost friends and members since and welcomed new along the way. Their hard work behind the scenes ensures that every visit to the club is enjoyable and memorable.

The Branton Coffee Club is a shining example of what makes our village so special. It embodies the values of friendship, community and volunteerism. Here’s to many more years of coffee, cake, conversation and community!

Branton Coffee Club meets every Tuesday at 10am (except August). Their next meeting will be held on Tuesday 3rd September.

Cantley with Branton WI

Our monthly meetings take place on the second Thursday of the month, with the next one on Thursday 12h September 2024 at 7pm until 9pm (we do not have a meeting in August).

We meet at Kilham Hall, Branton, Doncaster, DN3 3PF. Look out for us at the Auckley Show on 17th August where we will be selling our cakes and produce. Our Christmas Fair will be on the 9th November 2024 further information in the coming months. DONCASTER CANCER DETECTION TRUST

August already…..where does the time go? This month we would like to ask if you could help us with our appeal for scarves and jewellery! If you are like me (and the rest of our team) I always think a scarf complements an outfit. We do get asked from time to time if we have any for sale and we are down to our last half a dozen. Also, as we often sell jewellery on our stalls, do you have any unwanted items? I’ve already set aside a few bits to donate….it doesn’t take long and if you pass on your once loved items to our charity we can raise even more funds to help our local hospitals.
