Travel Basketball

The MBJCC is proud to offer a championship caliber Travel Basketball program. The season starts in September and runs until May. We offer 6 - 8 tournaments per season, along with scrimmage games against outside competition and plenty of practice time.

Age groups range from 4th - 9th grade and a girls team starting at 6th grade. As the MBJCC continues to grow our travel program, we will continue to offer multiple age groups in the future.

The Miami Beach Elite are led by Coach Joe Campodonico and Coach Jarred Axon. Coach Joe has been coaching basketball for over 20 years and has won multiple titles at every age level. Coach Jarred is a former division 1 college basketball player at Eastern Michigan and Former D League Player. Together they have built a foundation that has helped the MBJCC Miami Beach Elite win multiple championships.

Competitive Team

The MBJCC Gymnastics Team consists of Pre-Team and 5 competitive levels. Pre-Team is designed for those gymnasts that have the desire and motivation to work hard and show a potential for competitive gymnastics. Levels 1 - 5 follow the USA Gymnastics program Guidelines.

All children must try out to be part of the MBJCC Gymnastics Team. Children will be placed accordingly based on the Coaches’ discretion after tryouts. The competitive season runs September through May and therefore requires a full year commitment.

The MBJCC gymnastics program offers a wide variety of recreational and competitive gymnastics classes for children of all ages and abilities. Classes are held in our fully equipped gymnastics studio, and are taught by our award-winning Coaches Michele Rivera (Coach Mickey), Stacey Hatch, Domingo Torres (Coach Dom) and/or Andrea Nisenbon. All gymnasts will be tested and placed in the appropriate level.

Note for all gymnastics classes: Girls must wear leotards or tight-fitting clothing. (MBJCC Team Leotards/shorts available for purchase) Boys must wear a fitted T-shirt or tank, and shorts or sweat pants.

Leotards are REQUIRED for Competition Team.

Parents are not permitted to stay in the gymnastics studio during class.

LIL’ TUMBLERS (PARENT & TOT) PREREQUISITE: MUST BE WALKING*

This gymnastics class offers an age-appropriate introduction to gymnastics using creative expression and movement through the use of playful games and all of the gymnastics equipment with lots of parental hands-on assistance. Parental involvement provides toddlers with a comfortable environment in preparation for the transition to independent gymnastics classes. Children will bounce, swing, and roll their way through this class.

TOT GYMNASTICS

Children are introduced to each gymnastics apparatus and taught introductory gymnastics skills and body positions that help develop coordination, balance, strength, and body awareness. Children will also learn valuable social skills, such as working with a group, waiting your turn, listening to directions, and following directions.

BEGINNER GYMNASTICS

For those with limited or no gymnastics experience.

At this level, gymnasts are taught the basic tumbling skills such as forward rolls, cartwheels, and handstands while building self-esteem and self-confidence. Children will continue to be introduced to all Olympic events, including vault, uneven bars, and balance beam with a focus on flexibility, coordination, and strength. As the children progress, they will begin to learn simple gymnastics routines and focus more on correct form.

Gymnasts must show good form and technique on the beam, bars, and vault, as well as with the tumbling skills they learned in the beginner level.

This class is designed to continue to build upon the foundation that was learned in Beginner Gymnastics. While the basics are always reviewed and applied, it is now time to challenge what they’ve learned, refine their skills and develop more advanced techniques of execution on each gymnastics apparatus. In an ever evolving sport, they will be exposed to more practice time and even some conditioning.

Authorized Signature _____________________________________________ REFUND POLICY: A full refund will be issued for any class that is canceled by the MBJCC due to low enrollment or schedule changes. MBJCC programs require a minimum number of participants. No class will begin without the required minimum enrollment. In addition, if for any reason you withdraw from a class prior to the first class meeting, you will be issued a full refund. A MBJCC credit will be applied to your account for classes not attended should you choose to withdraw up to the third class of the semester unless the withdrawal is for medical reasons. In event of medical withdrawals (with adequate documentation) the participant will be issued a credit for the subsequent term. No refunds or credits are given for missed days. We understand that schedules can be hectic, therefore we will happily pro-rate for up to the first three classes in a given session. No changes will be accepted after the third week of class. \

WAIVER: I understand that MBJCC activities have inherent risks and hereby assume all risks and hazards inherent to my child’s participation in all MBJCC programs and facilities including transportation to and from said activities. I further release, absolve, indemnify, and agree to hold harmless the MBJCC, the organizers, volunteers, supervisors, officers, directors, participants, coaches, referees, as well as persons or parents transporting participants to or from such activities from any claims or injury sustained during my child’s use of MBJCC facilities or participation in any MBJCC activity, whether located on MBJCC property or not.

DISCIPLINE AND CHILD BEHAVIOR: The MBJCC should be made aware in writing of any special needs or limitations a child may have. In the event our staff sees your child is having difficulty with the structure that we provide, we will notify you and discuss the implementation of behavior modification programs with staff and your child. After implementing behavioral programs, if your camper continues to experience difficulty, we will recommend other appropriate alternatives.

HEALTH AND SAFETY: The Parent or Guardian certifies that the child is healthy and able to participate in all MBJCC activities at the time of application. Parent/guardian gives permission to secure proper medical treatment in case of an emergency, when parent/guardian can not be reached.

WAIVER FOR PHOTO RELEASE: I give my consent for any photos/videos taken of my child involved in MBJCC programs to be used for MBJCC, JCAA and/or GMJF promotions or display.
