MBJCC PROGRAMS FILL UP FAST. REGISTER EARLY TO ENSURE YOUR SPOT! HOW DO I REGISTER FOR A CLASS?

Online: mbjcc.org – click on register for programs and search for a specific class or browse through all of our programs. You must log in to your MBJCC account or create one to purchase classes. Please call us if you need any assistance with your MBJCC account.

Email: download the registration form from mbjcc.org, fill it out and email it to stella@mbjcc.org.

In Person: Fill out a registration form and bring it to the MBJCC service desk.

MEMBERSHIP PERKS

Members receive discounted rates on all classes. (however you don’t have to be a member to participate in classes.)

Complimentary valet and parking for members on a first-come, first-served basis. (alternative parking options: valet service $6, city municipal parking garage one block east on Sheridan Ave for $1 per hour, or street parking.

CANCELATIONS, REFUNDS AND PRO-RATION OF CLASSES.

A full refund will be issued for any class that is canceled by the MBJCC due to low enrollment or schedule changes. MBJCC programs require a minimum number of participants. No class will begin without the required minimum enrollment. In addition, if for any reason you withdraw from a class prior to the first class meeting, you will be issued a full refund. A MBJCC credit will be applied to your account for classes not attended should you choose to withdraw up to the third class of the semester unless the withdrawal is for medical reasons. In event of medical withdrawals (with adequate documentation) the participant will be issued a credit for the subsequent term. No refunds or credits are given for missed days.

We understand that schedules can be hectic, therefore we will happily pro-rate for up to the first three classes in a given session. No changes will be accepted after the third week of class.

The After-School Program at the MBJCC is a home-away-from home for your Pre-K through 5th grade student. The after-school program provides a safe, healthy, exciting and creative environment for children to unwind after a long day in school. You can feel confident knowing your children are in good hands when they arrive at the MBJCC. They begin their afternoon with a healthy snack followed by supervised homework time. Once done with their homework the students choose a daily rotating activity including: Arts & Crafts Playground

Holiday Break Afternoons

Special School Days Out are offered throughout the year in coordination with Miami-Dade County public school closings. School Days Out begin at 9 am and provide fun programming until 4 pm. Pre-care is available at 8 am and Post-care is available until 5 pm for an additional fee. Activities include swimming, arts & crafts, cooking, science, sports in the gym and on the field and much more.

Children in Pre-K – 5th grade can choose to join our general camp or elect a specialty camp. All campers will enjoy on-campus activities, sports, games, crafts, entertainment and field trips. Pre-K campers will stay on campus. Campers will be swimming daily. Please bring a swimsuit, towel, flip flops and sunscreen. Glatt kosher lunch (please bring Kosher for Passover lunch for Passover Camp) and snacks will be provided daily.

Travel Basketball

The MBJCC is proud to offer a championship caliber Travel Basketball program. The season starts in September and runs until May. We offer 6 - 8 tournaments per season, along with scrimmage games against outside competition and plenty of practice time. Age groups range from 4th - 9th grade and a girls team starting at 6th grade. As the MBJCC continues to grow our travel program, we will continue to offer multiple age groups in the future.

The MBJCC Hornets are led by Coach Joe Campodonico and Coach Jarred Axon. Coach Joe has been coaching basketball for over 20 years and has won multiple titles at every age level. Coach Jarred is a former division 1 college basketball player at Eastern Michigan and Former D League Player. Together they have built a foundation that has helped the MBJCC Hornets win multiple championships.

Competitive Team

The MBJCC Gymnastics Team consists of Pre-Team and 5 competitive levels. Pre-Team is designed for those gymnasts that have the desire and motivation to work hard and show a potential for competitive gymnastics. Levels 1 - 5 follow the USA Gymnastics program Guidelines.

All children must try out to be part of the MBJCC Gymnastics Team. Children will be placed accordingly based on the Coaches’ discretion after tryouts. The competitive season runs September through May and therefore requires a full year commitment.

The MBJCC gymnastics program offers a wide variety of recreational and competitive gymnastics classes for children of all ages and abilities. Classes are held in our fully equipped gymnastics studio, and are taught by our award-winning Coaches Michele Rivera (Coach Mickey), Stacey Hatch, Domingo Torres (Coach Dom) and/or Andrea Nisenbon. All gymnasts will be tested and placed in the appropriate level.

Note for all gymnastics classes: Girls must wear leotards or tight-fitting clothing. (MBJCC Team Leotards/shorts available for purchase) Boys must wear a fitted T-shirt or tank, and shorts or sweat pants.

Leotards are REQUIRED for Competition Team.

Parents are not permitted to stay in the gymnastics studio during class.

This gymnastics class offers an age-appropriate introduction to gymnastics using creative expression and movement through the use of playful games and all of the gymnastics equipment with lots of parental hands-on assistance. Parental involvement provides toddlers with a comfortable environment in preparation for the transition to independent gymnastics classes. Children will bounce, swing, and roll their way through this 45-minute class.

BEGINNER GYMNASTICS

For those with limited or no gymnastics experience. At this level, gymnasts are taught the basic tumbling skills such as forward rolls, cartwheels, and handstands while building self-esteem and self-confidence. Children will continue to be introduced to all Olympic events, including vault, uneven bars, and balance beam with a focus on flexibility, coordination, and strength. As the children progress, they will begin to learn simple gymnastics routines and focus more on correct form.

Every child progresses at different rates and times; for that very reason, there is never any pressure to attain certain skills, advance to another level or try and keep pace with any other participants in their class. We embrace individuality and celebrate success at all levels!

Gymnasts must show good form and technique on the beam, bars, and vault, as well as with the tumbling skills they learned in the beginner level. This class is designed to continue to build upon the foundation that was learned in Beginner Gymnastics. While the basics are always reviewed and applied, it is now time to challenge what they’ve learned, refine their skills and develop more advanced techniques of execution on each gymnastics apparatus. LIL’ TUMBLERS (PARENT & TOT)

This gymnastics class offers an age-appropriate introduction to gymnastics using creative expression and movement through the use of playful games and all of the gymnastics equipment with lots of parental hands-on assistance. Parental involvement provides toddlers with a comfortable environment in preparation for the transition to independent gymnastics classes. Children will bounce, swing, and roll their way through this 45-minute class.
