Women Working for a Better Alhambra
As the saying goes, “women hold up half the world,” and in our community that is evident in every aspect of our city. We find exceptional women leaders in business, civic organizations, the City, educational institutions, and community service groups. Perhaps because women have been making significant contributions to our City since its inception, we rarely stop and focus on their achievements, often accomplished while managing multiple roles and responsibilities.

Alhambra is a city led by women: our city manager, our police chief, and three of the five City Councilmembers are women of distinction, all of whom have had features within the pages of this publication. And as you look around the city, you see how women have taken the lead in service and in business.
Our City’s educational leadership boasts extraordinary, dedicated women who are shaping the futures of our youth. The superintendent of schools, and our venerated Ramona Convent and several professional training schools in Alhambra are women-led.
To learn about other women making a difference at all levels of business and organizations, look no farther than the pages of this issue of Around Alhambra, where throughout the issue we are featuring Snapshots of Alhambra Women Leaders.
