A LYS S A RO S ATO N E DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
My design philosophy is rooted in the belief that an inter ior should be a thoughtful balance of beauty and pur pose. Str iving to create spaces that resonate with individuals on a deeper, more emotional level while honor ing the environment they inhabit. Each project begins with a commitment to authenticity, designing spaces that are not only visually compelling, but meaningful, per sonal, and grounded in human exper ience. Individualism is at the core of my approach, believing every space should reflect the identity and values of the people who inhabit it. Drawn to natural palettes and ear th-der ived mater ials as essential tools for cultivating calm, war mth, and connection. Through texture, light, and organic elements, aiming to blur the boundary between indoor s and outdoor s, foster ing environments that feel restorative and grounded in nature. Sustainability is not an add-on to my practice; it is its foundation. Pr ior itizing eco-conscious mater ials, responsible sourcing, and long-lasting design solutions that respect both people and planet. Through sustainable choices, my goal is to create spaces that enhance per sonal well-being while also contr ibuting positively to the world. Ultimately, my work seeks to unite environmental responsibility, individual expression, and authentic beauty into spaces, creating an atmosphere that feels intentional and human-centered.

COREHEALTH
OFFICE DESIGN COMPLETED O C T. 2 0 2 5 -Partner Project-
Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, this workplace design project was centered on understanding the client’s core values, beliefs, and operational needs. Completed as a collaborative partner project it provided valuable experience in communication, coordination, and teamwork throughout the design process. Selecting CoreHealth as the client allowed for a deep exploration of the intersection between wellness and technology within the modern workplace. The office was envisioned as a holistic environment that embodies wellness through intentionally designed spaces supporting physical, social, and mental well-being. These include a dedicated gym for movement, a large cafe and open seating areas to encourage connection, and quiet retreat spaces that allow employees to rest, reflect, or recharge. The overarching goal was to create a living example of how thoughtful design can actively shape well-being, offering employees a place where they don’t simply work, but truly thrive. The project spans two floors, with my partner leading the design of the fourth floor and myself responsible for the fifth floor. Our primary objective as a team was to maintain a seamless flow between both levels, ensuring visual and spatial continuity so the office reads as a single, cohesive design rather than two separate efforts. This required ongoing communication, shared design standards, and close collaboration across planning, material selection, and spatial organization, strengthening my skills in teamwork while reinforcing the importance of consistency at a multi-floor scale. Materiality and color played a key role in creating a calm, welcoming atmosphere that encourages employees to return to the office. The palette is light, open, and refreshing, subtly refrencing CoreHealth’s brand colors while maintaining a bright and uplifting environment. Natural materials such as wood and earth-toned finishes were incorporated to ground the space in a sense of everyday nature, fostering comfort and familiarity. Through an open layout and a soothing material palette, the design promotes balance and ease, supporting a full transition back to in-person work while creating a workplace employees genuinely want to return to.

SUNRIDGE
HEALTHCARE DESIGN COMPLETED
DEC. 2025
Located in rural Northwest Montana, the Sunridge Primary Care Clinic reimagines healthcare design through a lens of cultural respect, environmental connection, and human experience. The project pushes beyond conventional clinical models by grounding the design in the indigenous cultures and expansive landscapes of the region, acknowledging that human wellness is deeply interconnected with both environmental and cultural health. In response to the unique challenges of the area; including long travel distances for patients, limited access to healthcare facilities, and the need to serve a wide range of ages and needs; the clinic seeks to create a space that feels welcoming, dignified, and restorative. Rooted in inclusivity, adaptability, and reverence for the land and its people, the design listens to its context, honoring the past while fostering healing, resilience, and cultural revitalization. The material selections carefully balance performance requirements with warmth and sensory comfort. Durable, cleanable materials appropriate for clinical settings were thoughtfully paired with warm tones, natural textures, and earth-inspired finishes to soften the overal atmosphere and move away from a traditionally sterile feel. Wood accents, grounded color palettes, and tactile surfaces help humanize the space while stilll meeting the standards for hygeine and longevity. Generous use of glass and expansive windows was a top design priority, allowing natural light to penetrate deep into the interior and reinforcing indigenous cultural ties to the sun as a source of life, healing, and continuity. This project provided a meaningful opportunity to engage deeply with a specific culture and to transform a space that can often feel intimidating into one of comfort, respect, and familiarity. Creating a clinic that not only serves indigenous communities with sensitivity and care, but also welcomes and supports the broader regional population as a shared place of wellness.

TRAIN DEPOT
R E S TO R AT I O N COMPLETED
DEC. 2024
This project is located in Kent, Ohio, and focuses on the restoration of the historic Kent Train Depot. Over the course of its lifetime, the building has undergone significant changes, and the primary objective of this project was to return the depot to its former glory as a vibrant and welcoming train station. A key goal of the design was to introduce a sustainable, forward-thinking building to the area, one that prioritizes environmental responsibility from construction methods to the products and materials used within the space. The overall design concept centers on movement, community, and sustainability, creating a station that serves not only as a transportation hub but also as a meaningful public space for the city of Kent. Material selection and utilization played a critical role in achieving this vision. Green and sustainable materials were carefully chosen to create an open, fresh, and inviting atmosphere throughout the building. The design remains true to the depot’s original architectural character by preserving and highlighting existing structural elements, including the ceiling and windows original to the building. These features were integrated into a clean, modern design that enhances natural light and spatial openness. Because travel can often be stressful, the interior was designed to evoke a sense of calm, ease, and beauty, making the station a destination in itself, even for those not traveling by train.
