IN REVIEW: NIGHT GOLF

On September 21, the Night Golf Tournament illuminated the Arnold Golf Course with 72 players across 18 teams, creating an unforgettable evening of fun and competition. The night was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and spirited competition beneath the starlit sky.

Participants skillfully navigated the course using illuminated golf balls.

Congratulations to the 1st place winners: Ben and John Adams, Craig Tracey, and Jay Blackwell!

The beautifully decorated carts, adorned with twinkling lights and imaginative designs, were a visual delight, enhancing the evening’s enjoyment. The winners for Best Decorated Cart went to James & Tammy McCormick and Cody & Monica Speece, whose creativity truly shone.

Most of the waste coming from plastic sweets wrappers and costumes worn just once.

35M costumes are thrown out each year in the US!

of Halloween costumes use non-recyclable materials.

18,000 TONS of pumpkins are thrown away each year during Halloween.

But, 60% of people simply discard their leftover pumpkin scrapings after carving. That's around 360 million portions of pumpkin pie that could have been made.

Are you a veteran?

The John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2019 allows veterans (Purple Heart/Medal of Honor recipients, former prisoners of war, or with service-connected disability (SCD) and their guests) and other certain veterans use of the commissary, military exchange and certain Morale Welfare and Recreation facilities.

DO YOU HAVE A VETERAN’S HEALTH IDENTIFICATION CARD (VHIC)?

The VHIC is the credential used to establish identity for the purpose of access control. A REAL ID-compliant (STAR) driver’s license is used to establish identity for the purpose of force protection. The VHIC establishes purpose both for the cardholder and for the cardholder’s accompanying guest. The card will only display the veteran’s name, picture, and special eligibility indicators on the front of the card, if applicable. Veterans will require a VHIC that displays “PURPLE HEART,” “MEDAL OF HONOR”, “FORMER POW,” or “SERVICE CONNECTED” below the photo on the front of the card for installation and benefit access.
