IWA MIDORI redefines urban housing by blending brutalist aesthetics with organic spaces. Its V-shaped form carves out communal greens, fostering connectivity. Exposed steel and concrete express both strength and transparency, reshaping Ahmedabad’s skyline.

Architecture as a response to its surroundings—structured yet adaptive. The spatial arrangement fosters movement, interaction, and a sense of belonging, shaping an environment that resonates with both function and emotion.

The vertical composition reflects the psychology of space—openness balanced with enclosure, solidity juxtaposed with transparency. Materiality and structure create a dialogue between permanence and adaptability, grounding the design in both form and experience.

The city unfolds in layers—low-rise buildings, moving transit, and an endless sky. Rising from this rhythm, the project asserts its identity through bold structure and exposed materials. The staircase shafts stand as vertical markers, anchoring the design within the urban fabric, while the metro weaves through, reinforcing the dialogue between movement and permanence.

The staircase shafts become the project’s identity—rigid, vertical markers in a city of shifting scales. As the metro weaves through, movement and stillness coexist, creating a dynamic dialogue between the built and the unbuilt, between structure and the infinite sky above.

The Community Science Center bridges Ahmedabad’s urban energy with Kankaria Lake’s tranquility. Its fluid, adaptive spaces, built with ferrocement and HSS steel bars, inspire exploration, innovation, and the pursuit of knowledge.

Makarasetu reflects the flowing form of the Sabarmati River through its interlocking glulam structure, seamlessly integrating connectivity with spaces for gathering, reading, and leisure.

SPATIAL EXPERIENCE

The interlocking glulam panels form a fluid, organic enclosure, isolating the space from its surroundings. Light filters through the gaps, casting dynamic shadows and enhancing the warmth of the wood. This immersive environment offers a unique, introspective experience, transforming the way users engage with space.

Group of students travelled to Kerela for researching about the vernacular architecture of the Fort Kochi area. Each group was assigned a religious site like Church, mosque etc; and over the span of 2 weeks the groups had to measure draw the structure and make it up on Autocad 2D.

Group of students were alotted a siteach in the pol houses of Ahmedabad which is the vernacular of this city. Over the span of 2 weeks students went to the site and measured the whole structure, transforming it onto Autocad files.

Vakrachaya (Sanskrit: Vakra - curved, Chaya - shadow) reflects the installation’s twisting form and the dynamic play of light and shadow, inspired by the Möbius strip.

Concept: Inspired by the Möbius strip, symbolizing infinity and seamless continuity.

Materiality: Bamboo skeletal frame wrapped in jute straw ropes, emphasizing sustainability and natural aesthetics.

Dimensions: 2 meters high, 4 meters wide.

Fabrication: Designed using Rhino Grasshopper, ensuring precision in the double curvature form.

Assembly: Constructed in 4 days through modular bamboo framing and handcrafted weaving.

Structural Logic: The continuous loop enhances visual fluidity and structural stability.
