About ARMOR

Armor Protective Packaging® manufactures rust prevention and rust removal products that are clean, safe and easy. To protect metal and metal parts, we produce ARMOR VCI Nanotechnology®—that’s the formal name for our “secret recipe” of rust-preventing vapor corrosion inhibitors. ARMOR combines its VCI with materials such as paper or poly lm, to create packaging supplies that o er the added bene t of rust prevention. Simply wrap or enclose metal parts in any ARMOR VCI product and quickly the VCIs kick into action to create a blanket of protection on the surface of metal that repels rust.

ARMOR has been eradicating rust for customers from around the globe for more than 45 years with its arsenal of products that include VCI paper, lm, and emitters; as well as desiccants and rust prevention/rust remover liquids. At ARMOR, our goal is to “Take the Work Out of Your Workday!”

What is VCI?

VCI stands for Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor. When VCI compounds are placed with ferrous or non-ferrous metal in an enclosed space, like a bag, container, toolbox, or bin, something almost magical happens. VCI molecules are released, drawn to the metal surface like a magnet, and they form an ultra-thin protective shield. Think of it as wrapping your metal parts in a warm, cozy blanket that keeps rust away.

At ARMOR we have our own secret formula of VCI—we call it ARMOR VCI Nanotechnology®. We combine ARMOR VCI Nanotechnology with materials like paper, poly lm, foam or chipboard, to create packaging materials that protect metal or metal parts while they are in process, in storage or while they are being shipped. What makes ARMOR products so great is that they are a clean, safe and easy replacement for other common rust prevention methods like messy grease, oils or other protective coatings. Using VCI products to protect metal/metal parts also saves on time, materials and money, and they do what ARMOR does best: “Take the Work Out of Your Workday!”.

METAL PARTS an opportunity exists!

The People You Should Talk To

Step 1 Find the Rust!

•Have you experienced any rust issues either with metal parts coming in or metal parts going out?

•Do you experience any rust during WIP (work in process)?

•Do you experience rust issues when metal parts are stored at your facility or o -site at a customer’s facility?

• The big question of the day … (drumroll please): What are you doing to PREVENT rust?

IF You are Using VCI to prevent rust…

You’re one smart cookie! VCI (that’s short for Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) is the clean, safe and easy-to-use approach to rust prevention. At ARMOR, we have our own secret formula of VCI—we call it ARMOR VCI Nanotechnology®—and we combine it with materials like paper, poly lm, foam, or chipboard, to create rust-prevention packaging that protects metal parts while they are in process, in storage or in shipment. Using VCI to protect metal/metal parts means you can say goodbye to the mess, risk, and labor of using oil, grease or solvent-based RPs and say hello to the sweet savings of time, materials and money!

A member of the ARMOR Team would be happy to assist you with any questions, input on rust prevention “best practices,” or cost-savings suggestions.

IF You are Using Oil, Grease, Solvent-Based RPs…

Your rust prevention e orts could crumble as quickly as a dry, day-old cookie!

An ARMOR Team Member would love the chance to intervene and nd you a cleaner, safer, rust-prevention option to protect your metal and metal parts while they are in process, in storage or in shipment. We want to save you from the health, safety and environmental risks that are the reality of using messy oil, grease and hazardous solvent-based RPs. Better yet, we want to save you time, labor and the cost of unnecessary materials costs as well.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again—a member of the ARMOR Team (we like to call ourselves Eradicators of Rust), would be happy to assist you with any questions, input on rust prevention “best practices,” or cost-savings suggestions.

IF YOU are Using None of the Above…

Common Product Terms

VCI, VPI, Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor, Vapor Phase or Contact Corrosion Inhibitor

Many manufacturers refer to VCI using their own terminology or custom-created acronyms to describe their particular brand of VCI. They do this to di erentiate their VCI from their competitors.

But don’t be confused, terms such as VCI, VPI and MPI are the same… but di erent. By that we mean, they are di erent names for the same thing—volatile or vapor phase corrosion inhibitors.

The list below is a sample of a few of the terms you will see used to reference VCI on rust prevention/corrosion control packaging currently o ered in the marketplace:

• VCI: Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor or Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor

• VPI: Vapor Phase Inhibitor or Vapor Paper Inhibitor

• MPI: Multi(metal) Purpose Inhibitor or Multi(metal) Phase Inhibitor

**The current, generally accepted term used by knowledgeable and experienced companies in North America today is VCI.
