CELEBRATING A LONG PARTNERSHIP: ARMCON AND TIPPERS

In the ever-evolving construction industry, strong partnerships form the backbone of long-term success. One such partnership that has thrived over the years is between Armcon and Tippers, a collaboration that dates back to 2016 and continues to grow. It all began during one of the UK’s construction exhibitions when Kieran from Tippers was tasked with exploring volumetric mixer manufacturers on behalf of Tippers’ owner, Bill Tipper. Among the many options available, Armcon stood out, leading Kieran and Bill to return the very next day for further discussions. This marked the beginning of what would become a successful and enduring relationship.

Following their initial meeting, Tippers placed their first new mixer order with Armcon. In true partnership fashion, Armcon wanted to support Tippers in building a concrete business whilst they waited for the new mixer and a rental mixer called “ Julie “ was soon delivering concrete to Tippers customers. This flexible approach allowed Tippers to build up a client base before their new mixer arrived and was so successful that Tippers went on to expand their fleet to three volumetrics

In 2023, Tippers decided that it was time to look at updating their mixer fleet and the first meetings were held to discuss how we could help Once again partnership was key to this relationship as Tippers needed to sell their current mixers before they could purchase the new Proall’s from us We set about providing a proposal where we would sell the used mixers for them and supply them with new Terex Proall mixers We carried out full mechanical surveys of the mixers, identified any work that would need doing prior to sale and then advertised the mixers on their behalf. We then found buyers for the mixers and took them to see the used Tippers mixers ensuring that we were able to manage the process for Tippers from start to end We are delighted to say that this process has been replicated three times in 2024 and our partnership with Tippers is even stronger than ever. This collaboration is a testament to how mutual trust and tailored solutions can lead to growth and success for both companies.

Jack’s Trip of a Lifetime

Jack recently took over the reins of Armcon Finance with Fred Bolton retiring and just before all the hard work started he decided to take an amazing trip to Jordan. We asked Jack what was the appeal of Jordan “There are no mixers there ��” and he told us “My trip to Jordan was truly amazing. The people were incredibly nice and welcoming, which made the experience even better. However, driving in Jordan was quite the adventure At times, the roads felt chaotic, which added a level of excitement - until we encountered two flat tyres that briefly slowed us down! One of the absolute highlights was visiting Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World We practically had the whole ancient city to ourselves. Watching the outline of Petra slowly emerge from the canyon as we approached was breathtaking a sight that exceeded all expectations

Another standout experience was our visit to Wadi Rum, a desert that felt like stepping onto the surface of Mars We camped out in a cave under the stars, enjoyed local Bedouin cuisine, and even rode camels across the red dunes It was an experience unlike any other and one I will never forget. After 10 days of travelling around the entire country, we wrapped up our adventure with a relaxing day at the Dead Sea. Floating effortlessly in the water, no matter what you do, it was surreal Watching the sunset as we floated was the perfect way to end the trip. Overall, Jordan exceeded all my expectations and was an unforgettable journey.”
