Energy On A Mission Half the planet lives in energy poverty lacking safe, affordable, and reliable ways to cook, charge, and light their lives. Three billion people still cook over smoky open fires every day and spend disproportionate amounts of income lighting their homes and charging their mobile phones. BioLite is on a mission to address energy poverty headon with an ecosystem of products that can transform an off-grid home. Families can access solar lighting, charging and clean cooking, dramatically improving daily routines by harnessing the energy around them. And thanks to our model of Parallel Innovation your support helps us go further, faster: sales from our outdoor recreation products are reinvested into our work in emerging markets, giving us the runway we need to solve complex challenges, from the technologies themselves to the transportation it takes to deliver them.

BioLite Combustion: The Secret To A Better Fire Powered by the 10,400 mAh USB-rechargeable battery, the FirePit’s internal fan circulates air through 51 jets throughout its burn chamber. This calibrated oxygen flow creates a more complete and efficient burn, combusting particulate matter before it can escape. The result? Smokeless flames and more fire per log.

Turning Fire Into Electricity with Thermoelectrics Light up a fire to cook your meals. We capture some of the waste heat via a copper probe. We convert that heat into useable energy via a thermoelectric generator. Electricity flows to a USB port so you can charge devices while simultaneously powering an internal fan. That fan blows air into the flames to improve combustion. Translation: a smokeless wood fire plus off-grid power for your gear.
