Dear Editor, Dear Editor,

I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in organising the Scarecrow festival back in July.
I had family visiting and we spent many hours wandering around the village looking at all of the wonderful displays.
It has inspired us to join in if this event should be organised for 2022 - we are already thinking about what we might use as our theme!
Our thanks once agin for organising a safe and most enjoyable event.
Christine Goode.
Editors Note: We second this Christine! We had such a good day walking round and helping to judge the scarecrows. It was such a tough job with so many fantastic ones to choose from! Well done Arlesey Community Events!
Dear Editor,
As I have only recently joined the local community I wanted to raise the issue of Dog fouling.
The property I live in like many others, has grass bordering the pavement. This seems to be a public toilet for many dogs.
As an animal lover for all of my adult life I am surprised and disappointed with the attitude of the dog walkers that allow there pets to use other peoples property like this.
Could you raise the issue and maybe get their dog walkers to get their animals to use the Gutter rather than the wonderful lawns?

Dear Editor,
I would like to thank all the residents of Stotfold and Arlesey and the readers of the Stotfold & Arlesey News Magazines who have used my services over the past few years or recommended me to friends and family.
It is due to their valued custom that I can now manage to focus solely on my own business full time, rather than part time and having to hold down my other full time job alongside (as you can imagine it has been a very busy past few years.)
So thank you all for supporting my small business and I hope to continue to provide my services for the local community for many years to come.

The Olympic Silver Medalist With Local Roots!
If like us, you are following the tremendous success of Great Britain at the Tokyo Olympics you will be familiar with our British Cycling Team and their triumphant Silver Medal win but did you know one of the team - Ryan Owens had roots in Stotfold?
Born into a keen cycling family, both Ryan’s father Andrew and Grandfather John rode competitively for Hitchin Nomads with Ryan following in their footsteps and racing competitively by the time he had reached 16. Both Ryans father and Grandfather were originally from Stotfold with some of his relatives still living in the town today.
Ryan’s Aunt Carolyn told the Arlesey News Magazine “We were so very proud of Ryan and his team for winning a silver medal at the Olympics - he has worked so hard over his racing career and always had his sights set on an Olympic medal” “We added an Olympic flag and photographs on to Ryans Grandparents grave in Stotfold cemetery to mark the occasion as they sadly passed away before Ryan got selected for the Rio Olympics (as a reserve rider) and now Tokyo Olympics. ”
Huge congratulations Ryan on such a wonderful achievement!
