News from Gothic Mede Academy

What a busy half term we are having.

Some of our Year 2 pupils were lucky to receive a visit from The Bedfordshire Fire Service. Children were given a talk around fire safety and got a chance to look at the clothing that firemen wear. The children then got the chance to look at a fire engine and the items that are stored in there.

Our Reception children have been busy in Forest school. Last week children made aboriginal journey sticks and then used sequencing language to explain their journeys around Forest School. The children had amazing fun whilst learning, even if it was very wet and muddy!

It is that time of year where we are starting to think about Christmas. Joyful sounds can be heard from the school hall where children are practising for their Christmas performances.

We are all looking forward to our School Christmas dinner and sharing the special season together as a school.

We would like to wish all a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2023.

Update from Arlesey Brownies.

The Brownies have been celebrating Diwali and Guy Fawkes night with Diya lamps and sparklers. We’ve had seven new brownies make their promise. We promise to “serve our communities” so we’ve been busy planting daffodil bulbs outside the village hall ready for everyone to enjoy in the spring. Brownies offers girls (aged 7 to 10) exciting opportunities to try new things, take on challenges, discover their potential, make brilliant friends and above all have fun!

If you’d like to join us (or put your name on the waiting list if you’re not quite 7) then register at www.girlguiding.org.uk/joinus, or email us at arlesey.brownies@hotmail.co.uk.
