2016 Security Workshop The 2016 Security Workshop was held April 28-29 at the Crowne Plaza in Little Rock with more than 40 bankers in attendance. Geared toward bank security personnel, this two-day event focused on security issues including fraud, robbery, money laundering, and workplace violence. Speakers were Barry Thompson and Arvin Clar, both of the Thompson Consulting Group. Topics included internal fraud, robbery, security mistakes, hostile customers, money laundering, and conducting investigations.

Students from Pottsville High School completed two banking educational programs through the American Bankers Association this school year: Principles of Banking, and Today’s Teller. Pictured are the seniors that completed the course, along with Jeff Small and Brandon Turner of First State Bank, who presented the certificates. These students also received cords for completing the Banking and Financial Systems required classes to be considered “completers” for Arkansas Career and Technical Education. Students completing the courses were Shyanne Chronister, Katie Cormier, Alex Cowan, Chase Darter, Jake Dugger, Josh Dugger, Jordan Duncan, Zach Edwards, Victoria Garner, Cody Gilbert, Savanah Gosnell, Kaitlin Gray, Payton Hubbard, Dylan Keathley, Spencer Maske, Caleb McAlister, Robert Philpott, Zach Riggs, Kaylynn Sears, Hayden Simpson, Sydnee Simpson, Savanna Sims, Dirk Thompson, and Jason Thompson.
