Gov. Sarah uckabee Sanders

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders was sworn into office on January 10, 2023 in a historic ceremony that saw her become the first female governor of the state, the first child of a former governor elected to the office, and the youngest governor in the nation at age 40.

Sanders was well-known for her previous role as White House Press

Secretary for Former President Donald Trump. She worked as a political operative in many campaigns including for U.S. Senator John Boozman, U.S. Representative French Hill, and the two Presidential campaigns of her father, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

Sanders started the session with a “bold, conservative” agenda that focused on education, prison and sentencing reform, and tax cuts. Early in the session, she was tabbed to deliver the national GOP response to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address.

With overwhelming Republican supermajorities in the state legislature, passage of her agenda is meeting with little resistance.
