94th General Assembly The →←

ARKANSAS LAWMAKERS OPENED THE 94TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY ON JANUARY 9, 2023 AND ARE LIKELY TO STAY IN SESSION WELL INTO APRIL.

With the new chief executive, Gov. Sarah Sanders, and more than a third of each chamber encompassing new members, the State Senate and State House of Representatives are tackling a host of substantive issues. They include an overhaul of the state’s education system, reforms to prison sentencing and the construction of new detention facilities, potential tax cuts or credits, and a variety of social issues dealing with transgender rights to affirmative action.

The Arkansas Bankers Association has been engaged on many fronts, as always, and is using the strength of its members’ knowledge, relationships with local elected officials, and a veteran governmental affairs staff to engage on issues that have a direct impact on the state’s banks.
