ArMAisstrivingtoprohibittheuseofthecredentialsMD andDO,andthetitleof“Doctor,”inclinicalsettingsand advertisementstopatientsbyanyoneotherthana medicalorosteopathicdoctor.Thisextremely pervasiveproblemisconfusingforpatientsandoften leadstopooroutcomes.Patientsdeservetoknow exactlywhoisprovidingtheircare.

ArMAisintroducinglegislationtooverrideaprestatehoodstatuteprohibitingdiscussionson contraceptives.Whilethestatuteisnotcurrently enforceableduetofederallaw,thehealthcare communityagreesthatprecautionsmustbetakento ensurephysiciansandpatientscansafelydiscuss contraceptives.
