It’s packed with inspiring articles and useful information to enhance your yachting experience. Since the launch of Argo Yachting in 2018, as a sister company of Princess Motor Yacht Sales, the World’s largest distributor of Princess Yachts, it has grown extensively. Founded upon the heritage of over 50 years of experience in luxury motor yacht sales with global reach, we take pride in offering a high level of service. Furthermore, our growth into the service, maintenance, retrofit and refurbishment market, is something to celebrate. And now in our 4th year, we have added more pre-loved and new yacht brands, across motor and sailing yachts, to our exceptional portfolio. We’ve had a great start to 2022 with events and awards. The Palma International Boat Show, the South Coast Boat Show and Saxdor customer and media sea trials were a huge success. It’s been fantastic to meet all of our customers and welcome everyone on board in person in the Spanish, Balearic and UK sunshine! We are also thrilled to share that the Saxdor 320 GTO won the Motor Boat Award for best sportsboat over 30ft, earlier in the year. In this edition we also take a closer look at our brokerage offering of pre-owned yachts and the benefits that Argo Yachting offers. We shine a light on our service and retrofit offer, looking after our customers throughout their yachting journey from finance options to upgrading stabilisation and even interior design and bespoke furniture. Our in-house yachting enthusiasts share their top tips for best places to visit and dine at some of our favourite cruising destinations right here in the UK – this edition focuses on Plymouth – Britain’s Ocean City. Saxdor 320 GTR The third model in the 320 series is recogniseable for its sleek profile, speed across the water (thanks to twin 300 or 350 hp Mercury engines), and flexible configuration. The versatility of the cockpit is a stand-out feature. The opening side terraces create an unbeatable connection to the water and the sunpad with sliding backrest ensures this area is equally comfortable whether carrying guests at high speed or relaxing when the boat is at rest. Argo Yachting has recently been awarded exclusive distribution rights to market the Italian designed Pardo Yachts in the UK.

The Pardo secret to producing elegant, spacious and high-performance yachts is more than 50 years of innovative expertise of Cantiere del Pardo. Handcrafted perfection and excellence from the hull to the finishing details set this brand apart while it also strives to become even more environmentally friendly. Pardo Yachts are renowned for their ‘walk-around’ models. The Pardo 38 is synonymous with power, elegance, comfort and functionality. There are two interior configuration options, one with an owner’s double cabin with ensuite and another with a second twin cabin. The Pardo 43 is characterised by its innovative features, technical solutions and performance, as well as comfort and luxury, both inside and out.

The Pardo 50 offers the perfect balance of performance and comfort. Its V-shaped hull has a variable geometry of 16° at the stern and more than 50° forward which guarantees great seakeeping and manoeuvrability, allowing planing in safe conditions at speed. It offers plenty of space for friends and family with bow seating, forward sunpad, 3 helm seats, a generous u-shaped aft dining area and sunpad. The spacious interior offers an owner’s double cabin forward with ensuite and an

additional twin cabin and heads. Standard engines are 2 x Volvo IPS 600 (440hp) with the option to upgrade to Volvo IPS 700 (550hp) or 800 (600hp). Bridging the gap between the much-loved walk-around models and providing more interior accommodation, Pardo launched the GT Series with the GT52. An enclosed main deck provides shelter from the elements with a sliding roof and either a galley up or down option, with plenty of comfortable and stylish wrap-around seating to relax. While the spacious exterior provides sunpads and seating forward and aft, the cockpit sunpad cleverly converts to a generous u-shaped dining area giving ultimate flexibility. The lower accommodation has an owner’s double cabin ensuite, a twin cabin and a single cabin. Standard engines are 2 x Volvo IPS 650 (509hp) with the option to upgrade to Volvo IPS 700 (550hp) or 800 (600hp).

Thanks to its linear and refined furnishings, the Pardo 43 interior reflects the excellence of ‘Made in Italy’, characterised by a careful choice of wood veneer and meticulous craftsmanship. The Pardo E60 (Endurance) offers maximum space and comfort for longer cruises. Calibrated speed and low consumption redefine long-distance cruising. Saxdor Win Motor Boat Award The Saxdor 320 GTO has been recognised at Motor Boat and Yachting’s Motor Boat Awards 2022 as outright winner in the Sports Boats over 30ft category. Chris-Craft Chris-Craft has acquired a 6-acre site in Sarasota, Florida in order to increase production with an additional manufacturing facility next to the current factory. American developer Ryan Companies US Inc. has been appointed by Chris-Craft to build a new 80,000 square-foot manufacturing site. ‘We are excited for the opportunity to expand Chris-Craft right here at our home facility in Sarasota”, company president Steve Heese says. “Through this expansion, we will be able to better serve our dealers and customers, as well as the Sarasota community.’*

It’s estimated that the new production site will be completed later this year and is likely to welcome an additional 200 employees alongside the existing 20-acre site that currently employs more than 300 people. The display included a Targa 38 and a Jeanneau Leader 30. New boats included the Saxdor 320 GTC and Saxdor 200 SPORT, with a Saxdor 320 GTO and Saxdor 200 SPORT on the marina for sea trial demos – enjoyed by customers and press alike. Princess Motor Yacht Sales displayed an exceptional Princess Y85, S66, V55 and F50. ‘It was an amazing show, with lots to see and it was very well attended. We had one of the most prominent stands there, displaying a broad spectrum of fabulous yachts. New Office in Puerto Portals After more than 20 years, Princess Motor Yacht Sales and Argo Yachting, have invested approximately £100,000 to relocate to a brand-new building in Puerto Portals. This has doubled the interior space and outdoor terrace whilst also benefiting from the beautiful marina frontage. This is now the main sales hub for the Balearics, open 7 days a week at Edificio C5 Locales 103-104, 07181 Puerto Portals. New Office Opening in Swanwick Premier Marinas have created a fantastic new dedicated sales pavilion at their Swanwick Marina near Southampton as part of the marina’s regeneration programme that will also include a new restaurant and berth holder’s lounge, attracting more customers and brands. Argo Yachting, along with sister company, Princess Motor Yacht Sales, are opening a new dual-branded office this summer to welcome customers.

Marlin Marine In December 2021, Marlin Marine Services, a specialist superyacht servicing company, joined Argo Yachting and Princess Motor Yacht Sales in the Balearics. The acquisition of Marlin Marine Services brings together three businesses in the Balearics which all share the same commitment to customer service, while extending and strengthening each of their areas of expertise.

As the season begins, Charles says, ‘The boating market has, much to our surprise, continued to be strong since mid-2020 and we are still seeing a very high demand for yachts. The taste for adventure and new experiences has really been evident with boat purchasers and it is so exciting to see such a passion for the boating industry. With a buyer heavy market, I have fewer boats to offer clients, so if you are in a position to sell your yacht, it really is the perfect time!’

Charles joined the team with 9 years of marine experience. He started off as a Bosun on board superyachts cruising in the USA, Caribbean, Mediterranean, the North and Baltic Sea, including multiple ocean passages and shipyard projects. Following this, Charles set off into the world of yacht sales through internships at Floridian superyacht shows, and then moved back to the UK to work with one of the betterknown yacht sales companies in the country. Continuing to build on a large foundation of knowledge and experience, Charles had a very busy 2021 season selling UK and EU yachts to and for his clients and anticipates the 2022 season will be just as busy. Outside of work, Charles is very active and enjoys sport, with cricket, scuba diving and water sports at the top of the list.

When it comes to brokerage, one of the most common questions is, ‘how do I sell my yacht?’. Argo’s dedicated brokerage team offer a trusted yacht brokerage service to help owners realise their yacht’s true selling potential. Start from the beginning When considering selling a yacht, the starting point should be researching other yachts of a similar manufacturer, size and age, to see what they’re selling for and understand the market. This will set expectations to a degree – an expert valuation will help customers to understand the actual worth of their yacht and how much one can realistically expect when it comes to a sale. This is where Argo Yachting comes into the equation.

Who will see the listing? Once a customer has decided to list with Argo Yachting, a simple multi-step process will take place to ensure the listing works as hard as possible. Firstly, there will be a detailed inspection of the craft, to confirm it is safe, secure and ready to be sold – at this point, there may be recommendations to carry out some service or maintenance works or preparations that could assist a quicker sale. Argo’s in-house professional photographer will then visit the yacht to produce a suite of luxury photographs, video (including drone footage) and a 3D tour. A detailed specification will also accompany the listing online so that customers can experience the yacht from the comfort of their home.

British Motor Yacht Show 15-19 June 2022

Customer Event - Saxdor Yachts Taster Sessions Available

This boutique boat show, originally born of Princess, Sunseeker and Fairline, is growing in presence and last year included a further 15 yacht brands. Premier Marinas in Swanwick will host the show on the picturesque River Hamble. Taking place later than usual due to marina works, it will also span 5 days to enable more visitors to enjoy the stunning displays of yachts with ease.

Founded in 2019, Saxdor Yachts is a revolutionary new brand of premium power yachts designed by Sakari Mattila, the original designer and founder of award-winning boat brands Axopar and XO. It was his ambition to build an exciting generation of premium boats, combining modern styling with the very latest technology at an extraordinarily competitive price.

Argo Yachting will exhibit the Saxdor 200 SPORT and Saxdor 320 GTC, alongside sister company Princess Motor Yacht Sales, which includes in its display, an exceptional Princess S78, V55, V50 Deck Saloon, F62 and F50. Plymouth – Britain’s Ocean City

With established offices throughout Europe, Argo Yachting has direct access to some of the world’s most seductive boating destinations. But if you want to enjoy a range of first-class cruising opportunities right here in Britain, the English south coast is a very exciting place to be. By Alex Smith and Claire Ashton

Plymouth is steeped in maritime history. From the Pilgrim Fathers setting sail for the “New World” in 1620 to the modern day boat building of Princess Yachts, and recently appointed as Britain’s first National Marine Park, the city is the ideal base for cruising adventures. The seafront and ‘The Hoe’ featuring its iconic candy-striped Smeaton’s Tower lighthouse (originally built at the Eddystone Rock) and the 1935 Art Deco Tinside Lido, is lined with bars and cafes to take in the awe-inspiring views across Plymouth Sound. The historic cobbled streets of the Barbican are well worth a stroll, taking in the Elizabethan House, numerous bars, restaurants, boutique shops and Plymouth Gin Distillery, then across Sutton Harbour lock to the National Marine Aquarium. For ‘off-grid’ serenity, the southwest is outstanding. The stretch of coastline to Salcombe and Dartmouth is particularly renowned for its epic landscapes and deepcut estuaries. And in south Cornwall, the coastline to Falmouth, with Looe and Fowey en route, gives you access to some gorgeous little fishing towns.

Richard Cark, Aftersales Business Development Manager at Argo Yachting in Plymouth, said: “Anchoring up at Blackpool Sands in the height of the summer is better than anything the Med has to offer – and yet the coastline is as quiet as it is varied. Every cove, every estuary is different. From Plymouth, you’ve got Salcombe and Dartmouth to the east and Cawsand Bay, Fowey, Falmouth and the Helford River to the west. The scenery is unbelievable, there’s wildlife everywhere you look and the seafood is as good as you will find. We also have some fabulous events close to home including the Dartmouth Regatta, the Salcombe Regatta, SailGP in Plymouth, the Falmouth Regatta and the Torbay Air Show.’

Best anchorage: The River Yealm is a beautiful estuary for a quiet anchorage. Cellar Bay is near the mouth of the river, and further up you can moor up at one of the public pontoons or pick up a mooring buoy. The scenery is stunning. Its tranquillity lends itself to a spot of paddle boarding or kayaking to explore the river. Or you can take the tender up to one of the great pubs such as the Ship Inn – a lovely gastro pub with superb outdoor seating with a Caribbean inspired summer house or you can stay cosy indoors next to the fire. Across Noss creek is the Swan Inn and across Newton Creek is the Dolphin – and you can use the causeways at low tide to stroll between them! There’s also a fabulous circular 90-minute cliff top walk called ‘The Warren’, if you feel like stretching your legs. It takes in spectacular views across the English Channel and along the rugged Devon coastline and then leads down through the woods beside the river, finishing at the Ship Inn – perfect for a well-deserved lunch.

Best overnight stop: Salcombe in the summer is absolutely buzzing. This popular nautical town is the jewel of the South Hams, attracting a discerning crowd. It’s set on the beautiful Kingsbridge Estuary – a boating mecca for dinghy sailing, yachts, motor boats, paddle boards and kayaks. The river is flanked with many small golden sandy coves, with lush rolling hills in the background. Salcombe town itself offers a wide selection of boutique shops, deli’s, pubs and restaurants, and you can even join a masterclass at the Salcombe Gin Distillery. Take the little foot ferry across to East Portlemouth to walk the South West Coast Path to Gara Rock or to South Sands to visit the fabulous South Sands Hotel and Harbour Beach Club Hotel for brunch, lunch or dinner right on the beach. From here you can walk up to the National Trust’s tropical Overbeck’s garden – real proof of Salcombe’s mild and sunny micro-climate.
