Running Stones
You can only earn Running Stones by finishing 20K, 50K, 100K or 100M races in a UTMB® World Series or UTMB® World Series Major event.

Accumulating Running Stones is the only way for popular runners to access the UTMB® World Series. A Running Stone is an entry into the lottery for the UTMB® World Series Finals: the UTMB®, the CCC®, and the OCC of the UTMB® Mont-Blanc.
Only 1 Running Stone obtained in the past two years is necessary to enter the lottery. Running Stones are cumulative, do not expire, and each Running Stone offers an additional chance in the lottery.
UTMB® MONT-BLANC® ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Only runners who have obtained at least one Running Stone in the last two years can participate in the lottery to win a bib for the OCC, CCC®, or UTMB®.
A Running Stone gives you the chance to enter the lottery for the UTMB® World Series Finals, i.e. the UTMB®, CCC®, and OCC of UTMB® Mont-Blanc.
Runners will earn Running Stones by completing a race in the 20km, 50km, 100km and 100M categories at a UTMB® World Series Event. Running Stones are cumulative and the more Running Stones you have, the more likely you are to be selected.
They must also possess a valid UTMB® Index for the distance of their choice:
• To participate in the OCC lottery, runners must possess a valid UTMB® Index in the 20K, 50K, 100K or 100M category.
• To participate in the CCC® lottery, runners must have a valid UTMB® Index in the 50K, 100K or 100M category.
• To participate in the UTMB® lottery, runners must have a valid UTMB® Index in the 100K or 100M category.
WHAT IS THE UTMB® INDEX?
The UTMB® Index, created by Didier Curdy, has proven its relevance and quality over the years and is the foundation on which the UTMB® World Series® circuit is based.
The UTMB® Index provides the performance level of each runner participating in the UTMB® World Series races.
RACE CATEGORIES AND OVERALL UTMB® INDEX
The UTMB® Index is calculated for each of the 4 UTMB® World Series race categories (20K, 50K, 100K and 100M). A validated UTMB® Index is achieved by completing at least one UTMB® World Series Major, UTMB® World Series Event or UTMB® Index Race in the last 24 months. Once a race category has been activated, all races in the last 36 months will be used to calculate the UTMB® Index.
Trail runners also receive a General UTMB® Index, which is calculated by combining the results of all the race categories. The UTMB® General Index is available as soon as the UTMB® Index is validated in a category: 20K, 50K, 100K, and 100M.
BENEFITS OF A VALIDATED UTMB® INDEX
Runners with a validated UTMB® Index will have privileged access to register for a UTMB® World Series Event or UTMB® World Series Major and will use their UTMB® Index to access the UTMB® World Series Finals lottery.
Privileged access* refers to the following aspects:
• Exclusive pre-sale period.
• Competitive rates.
• Places will be awarded in order of registration.
*It does not apply to races that sell out, in which a lottery is held. In the event of a lottery, the subscription will be exclusive to UTMB® Index holders.
In cases where the organization of a UTMB® World Series Event or UTMB® World Series Major requires participation in similar races, runners must prove that they have a validated UTMB® Index in the required 50K, 100K, or 100M categories.

ECO-RESPONSIBILITY
Sustainability
Valhöll Argentina by UTMB has developed several actions aimed at preserving the natural environment and raising awareness among all those involved. It is a collective action that inc ludes the organization, local authorities, runners and supporters, partners, service providers and volunteers.

These are just some of the implementations at Valhöll Argentina by UTMB:
• We implemented the use of DropBags, and Personal waste bag for the runner made entirely of 100% recyclable materials and the reusable runner’s bag/ backpack.
• We encourage runners to carry everything necessary to contain and eat food and beverages (in addition to considering as mandatory equipment a container for consumption).

• Waste separation system.
• No plastic water bottles are used in order to limit the waste generated and the transportation of these bottles, always considering first the locally available resources.
• Disposable materials will be kept to a minimum at refreshment stations.
• Public transportation is organized to limit the use of personal vehicles and to facilitate and manage the flow in the cities, thus limiting inconvenience.
• Circuit marking with reusable stakes will be implemented.
• All recyclable material generated will be put into joint actions with local groups for reinsertion into the system.
