The State Resolutions Committee referred these resolutions to the Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation Board of Directors 1.

We favor the formation of a committee to study sustainable production agriculture and to form the definition and the outlines and plan for sustainable agriculture.

2.

We propose to create a national rice commodity division.

3.

We encourage Arkansas Farm Bureau to promote and support the Arkansas peanut industry and begin the development of a peanut commodity division.

4.

We support Arkansas Farm Bureau State Board of Directors hosting seminars about crops to educate producers.

5.

The total per diem and stipend received by each state board member, ex-officio member and officer (president, vice-president and secretary) should be noted in the year ending financial statements.

6.

We request that Arkansas Farm Bureau and the State Board of Directors take a more proactive stance in voicing the concerns of Arkansas farmers and fighting for them, in the event that Arkansas farmers civil rights and liberties are violated, as has occurred in the City of Tulsa vs. Arkansas poultry integrators lawsuit over the Euchi-Spavinaw watershed.

7.

We urge the state board to the make the following current policy a priority issue: “We recommend poultry companies pay growers already in business the same per pound as growers with new houses, and pay bonuses in the same manner.� (117 Poultry)

8.

We recommend the state board of directors adopt appropriate technologies to allow all counties the option to participate in meetings similar to the Policy Development Kickoff meeting in their home county.

9.

We recommend the state board review the membership dues structure and make sure the organization is financially secure.

10.

We support removing membership quota from the Gold Star Program.

11.

We favor raising the age limit for participation in Arkansas Farm Bureau's Young Farmers & Ranchers program from 36 to 40.

12.

We recommend changing the age limit for the Young Farmers & Ranchers program from 35 to 40 years of age.
