Micropolitan America focouses on authentic understanding of urbnism that studies the American town as an autonomous urban setup. One that is imple enought to be broken down in primary and identi able elements. Tools that enable urban function at its minimum. The Americn town is seen through the lens of remoteness. Its content is detached from its form as it invisibly links to greater systems and networks. The town is seen in two extreme scales. A nationwide scale of networks and their local built manifestations. This condition of both internal and external extreme remoteness generates sharp borders and two primary conditions: The town itself and the territory around it, and the space in-between towns. A T E M E N T:

WHEN CANCER DEVELOPS, THE ORDERLY PROCESS OF CELL GROWTH BREAKS DOWN, AND THE EXTRA CELLS CAN DIVIDE WITHOUT STOPPING AND THEY SURVIVE WHEN THEY SHOULD DIE. THE CONCEPT FOR THE EXPANSION OF THE CANCER CENTER WAS DRIVEN FROM UNWANTED CELL MULTIPLICATION, AND IN ITS EARLIER STAGES OF DESIGN, IT AFFECTS THE SHAPE OF THE BUILDING AND IT CONTINUES THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE PROCESS. USING THE WORST SITUATION AND TURN IT TO A GOOD EXPERIENCE IS THE ULTIMATE APPROACH TO THIS PROJECT. THE POINT OF DISCONNECTION IN THE CELL MULTIPLICATION PROCESS BECAME THE MAIN POINT OF CONNECTIVITY AND SHAPED THE ATRIUM IN THE HEART OF THE PROJECT. THE CLINIC’S DISTORTED SHAPE ALSO DRIVES FROM THE SAME IDEA, AND IT IS CONNECTED THE LOBBY TO THE CENTRAL ATRIUM, WHICH RESULTS IN THE STRONG CONNECTION BETWEEN THE CLINIC AND OTHER PARTS OF THE PROGRAM. THE GREENERY AREA BETWEEN THE CLINIC AND MAIN BLOCKS REINFORCES THE MAIN CONCEPT, WHILE HEALING THE MIND, BODY, AND SPIRIT.

THE REFUGE

PROJECT STATEMENT:

PROJECT STATEMENT

The Refuge incorporates an addiction rehabilitation facility, a nutrition and wellness facility, and a primary care clinic into a healthcare campus that provides healing and safety for the mind, body and spirit.The idea of this design stems from the prospect-refuge theory. Humans like to see their surroundings but prefer to be in a place of refuge to observe and decide whether to explore further. This theory applies for our healing campus. Users of this site are most likely fragile already and will want to seek some sort of safe place.

PROJECT STATEMENT

THIS PROJECT IS LOCATED IN THE HEART OF 3 MILLION POPULATION CITY, MASHHAD_IRAN, AND IT AIMS TO ELEVATE THE LIVING QUALITIES FOR ITS USERS BY PROVIDING UNIQUE AMENITIES ON THE FIRST FLOOR.

P R O J E C T S T A T E M E N T:

This projected is located in the heart of the city, Mashha_Iran, and aims to elevate living qualities for its users by providing life-neccessities within the first floor of the complex.

THE COURTYARD IS SURROUNDED BY RESIDENTIAL BLOCKS TO PROVIDE MORE PRIVACY WHILE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE NATURAL ELEMENTS ON THE SITE.

The courtyard is surrounded by residential blocks to provide more privacy while taking advantage of views of the natural elements on the site.

THE FACILITY PROVIDES AREAS FOR DAILY SHOPPING, FITNESS CENTER, CHILDREN PLAYGROUNDS, A BUSINESS CENTER, A SUN DECK, COVERED AND UNCOVERED PARKING, ROOMS FOR QUIET SELF-REFECTION AND AREAS TO APPRECIATE NATURE. THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE BUILDING AND ITS LANDSCAPE, REINFORCE SAFETY AND SECURITY WHILE HEALING THE MIND, BODY, AND SPIRIT.

The facility provide areas for daily shopping, fitness center, children playgrounds,business center,sun deck, covered and uncovered parkings, areas for quiet self-refection, and areas to appreciate nature. The relationship of the building and build-landscape, reinforce safety and security while healing of the mind, body, and spirit take place.
