Safety In the interests of public safety all visitors to the Racecourse should follow directions of the Safety Stewards on the Stands and the Race Day Staff throughout the Racecourse. Please do not leave bags or your possessions unattended at any time as this could cause a security alert. It is an offence to be drunk at a sporting event and for this reason people clearly under the influence of alcohol will be asked to leave the racecourse. Racegoers are requested to be particularly aware of their personal safety in all areas where they come into close contact with the horses, such as the parade ring and the horse walks.
First Aid The First Aid Room is located at the top end of the Pre-Parade Ring. General Although everyone is welcome at Worcester Racecourse, we do reserve the right, in extreme circumstances, either to refuse admission or to eject any person from the racecourse. Horse & Jockey Welfare at Worcester Nothing matters more to us when racing than the safety and welfare of both horse and rider. Central to that is the track itself and our groundstaff do everything in their power to provide an optimum racing surface. On duty today we also have a dedicated and experienced team of highly-qualified Vets, Doctors and Paramedics following the action at every stage. Their key responsibility is to monitor and provide care to the competitors throughout their time at the racecourse. The locations and vehicle movements of these skilled specialists during racing are designed to provide a rapid response to any incident across the site. We also have a high-specification horse ambulance in attendance at every fixture to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital.
Seating/Viewing Racegoers are requested not to stand in the marked gangways on the Grandstand Steppings as this will compromise safety. Vehicles On The Course Please note that several vehicles containing the doctors, vets and officials will be travelling around the Centre Course area during each race. For this reason and in the interests of safety, visitors in the Centre Course enclosure are requested to remain within the defined enclosure. Wireless Transmitting The use of any wireless transmitting and/or receiving apparatus other than the official circuit is prohibited at all racecourses. Failure to comply could result in your removal from the racecourse as per our terms and conditions of entry.
It is our standard practice to erect screens around any horse or jockey requiring attention on the course as this provides privacy and a safe, calm environment in which to accurately diagnose and treat the patient as necessary.

Star Ratings Explained Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: HHHHH Selected to win the race. HHHHI Good chance of being placed. HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope. HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in nonhandicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating. For novice steeple chasers, the latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the Handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating. Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h.

TIMEFORMVIEWJustified support to land a Warwick bumper last October. Showed more than previously over hurdles (also did plenty wrong) when 12 1/2 lengths third on qualifying run at Warwick (19f) in May. Opening mark looks lenient on his bumper form, and he has leading claims if putting it all together on return. TFRHHHHH BHA97

Theo Gillard Donald McCain, Cholmondeley Bluegrass Horse Feeds
TIMEFORMVIEWFair bumper winner who hasn’t matched his placed maiden hurdle form in handicaps. Did make more impact than of late when beaten 10 1/4 lengths in first-time cheekpieces at Sedgefield (2 1/2m) latest, however, still has stamina to prove over this longer trip. TFRHHHII BHA91

TIMEFORMVIEWTumbled in weights since winning 4-runner event at Huntingdon (2 1/2m) in May last year. Looks in reasonable heart judged on his most recent couple of efforts in 23f handicaps here (for all the form of those races hardly looks robust). Considered from a slipping mark. TFRHHHII BHA90

TIMEFORM VIEW Sole success came in a poor novice chase at Market Rasen (17f, heavy) last summer. No match for a thriving one in a handicap chase over track/trip latest. On a fair mark for this rare hurdle start, though may need plenty of assistance from the saddle to capitalise. TFRHHHHI BHA86

TIMEFORMVIEWFair form in bumpers. Let down by his jumping/temperament over hurdles, well-beaten third of 5 in maiden at Stratford (2m) on qualifying run in late-June. Hard to be confident he’ll improve for the switch to a handicap/longer trip. TFRHHIII BHA85

TIMEFORM VIEW Modest winner on Flat. Made slightly more impact than previously in this sphere when 12 1/2 lengths third over C&D on penultimate start. Perhaps unsurprisingly failed to back that up (by a long chalk) here last time. TFRHHIII BHA76 28

TIMEFORM VIEW Relatively lightly-raced 4-y-o. Looked to be getting the hang of things with back-to-back places in novice handicaps at Uttoxeter/Stratford earlier this summer. Run of good form came to an abrupt halt when pulled up over C&D last time, though. TFRHHHII BHA77
