FOURTH RACE 4.23

TWO MILES ABOUT SEVEN FURLONGS (2M 7F) FOR FOUR YRS OLD AND UPWARDS

THE LOWES GARAGE HOME OF MOT’S £30 HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 3)

Total prize fund £11000 x Owners Prize Money. 1st £4443, 2nd £2221, 3rd £1111, 4th £556, 5th £277. (Penalty Value £5809.10) Weights raised 6lb and paragraph 34 of the Weights and Handicapping Code complied with where applicable.

LEADING COURSE TRAINER (17-22): F O’Brien (35 wins from 185 runners, 19%) runs POLISH TRAINER-IN-FORM (LAST 14 DAYS): B Pauling (4 wins from 8 runners, 50%) runs GENTLEMAN VALLEY LONGEST TRAVELLER: MR TAMBOURINE MAN trained by D Pipe, Wellington, 116 miles.

It’s hard to completely rule any of these out but POLISH is the most appealing following a fine effort in defeat back in this sphere over C&D last month. He remains 8lb below his last winning mark and gets the nod ahead of Go Chique, who scored on the back of a similar absence at Bangor in September. The hat-trick seeking Gentleman Valley will be a threat, too, if keeping it together and Irish Prophecy is of interest back hurdling off an attractive mark.
