WELCOME & MEET THE TEAM
I am delighted to welcome you to our Ladies Day at Worcester Racecourse. We would particularly like to thank our sponsors fbc Manby Bowdler and PJ Nicholls for their support, as well as offering a warm welcome to all that have joined us during this celebratory Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend. We have a good number of fixtures to look forward to over the summer, with various themed days and evenings including our Live After Racing fixture next Saturday11th June featuring James Bay, followed by our popular Family Fun Day on Sunday 19th June. We offer a superb value package for advanced group bookings, hospitality boxes, marquee and restaurant facilities as well as a very versatile venue for non-race day events such as conferences, weddings and parties. Or why not consider the benefits of getting involved with the action on the track by sponsoring a race? Visit our website for full details on how to contact us (www.worcester-racecourse.co.uk). Most of all, we thank you for supporting us today and hope you enjoy your day with us and the Jubilee weekend. We do hope you will join us again at the home of Summer Jumping for our next meeting on Saturday 11th June for a great day of racing followed by our James Bay concert.

Ben Pauling has his string in good order and NORTHERN BOUND could help continue the yard’s good run of form. The 8-y-o is entitled to come on for last month’s reappearance spin over hurdles (first start for five months) and is likely to be seen in an altogether better light back in this sphere with cheekpieces refitted. Royal Ruby is bound to be popular on the back of his Plumpton success, but El Paso Wood will be the main danger if he takes his chance.

RACE SUMMARY STATS
Plenty of improving and unexposed colts as expected but DESERT CROWN already looks a top-class prospect, running to a very smart level when winning the Dante at York with plenty in hand, and he may well have the talent to win the Derby on just his third career start. Aidan O’Brien has a typically strong hand as he bids for a record-extending ninth win and his impressive Derby Trial winner Stone Age is a solid alternative, while Changingoftheguard shouldn’t be underestimated, either. 1-2-3: 1.DESERT CROWN 2.STONE AGE (IRE) 3.CHANGINGOFTHEGUARD (IRE) KEY colours
