WEIGHTWATCHER: WYVERN won off a handicap mark of 80, his rating is now down 22lb to 58.
LONGEST TRAVELLER: GATSBY CAP trained by John McConnell, Ireland.
A wide-open handicap and with excuses on his latest outing WYVERN is suggested returnedtoclass6company.PatMorris’6-y-ocaughttheeyetosuggesthisturnmaywellbenearonhispenultimate run at Newcastle and this step back up in trip promises to suit. Irish raider Gatsby Cap had an excuse last time and a better showing is anticipated here. The Hat-trick seeking Billy McGarry and Enzos Angel are others to consider

GINCIDENT was yet another rejuvenated by the switch to James Owen when putting up a battling display to end a losing run at Leicester (7f) 2 weeks ago and, remaining with plenty of handicapping scope on old form, he looks to hold sound claims of following up. HORSE AND JOCKEY WELFARE AT WOLVERHAMPTON
Nothing matters more to us when racing than the safety and welfare of both horse and rider. Central to that is the track itself and our groundstaff do everything in their power to provide an optimum racing surface. On duty today we also have a dedicated and experienced team of highly-qualified Vets, Doctors and Paramedics following the action at every stage. Their key responsibility is to monitor and provide care to the competitors throughout their time at the racecourse The locations and vehicle movements of these skilled specialists during racing are designed to provide a rapid response to any incident across the site We also have a high-specification horse ambulance in attendance at every fixture to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital
It is our standard practice to erect screens around any horse or jockey requiring attention on the course as this provides privacy and a safe, calm environment in which to accurately diagnose and treat the patient as necessary. Please do not assume the worst if screens are erected around a horse We are fully committed to minimizing risk in our sport, to dealing professionally and efficiently with any injury, and to maintaining the highest possible quality of care for the horses and jockeys racing here today.
