Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai the UAE’s leading distributor of horse feeds and supplements proudly sponsors the Owners & Trainers facilities at Royal Windsor Racecourse
WELCOME
Welcome everyone today to Royal Windsor Racecourse for our second Country & Western Racenight after a hugely enjoyable first outing for this theme last summer
One of the benefits of the Football World Cup being over is that we are already starting to see the crowds return in good numbers to Windsor, as was the case for last week’s Soul & Motown Racenight here, and looking at pre-raceday sales for this one, we are again seeing a healthy upturn in booking numbers There is no doubt the World Cup had a disruptive influence on attendance figures for our racedays throughout June and the Rum & Reggae Racenight just before the semi-finals in mid-July, but we are excited about the next few weeks with a strong run of fixtures and the weather remaining warm and sunny.
Aside from the racing here, I have mentioned previously the raft of non-racing events and activities that take place here at the racecourse throughout the year, as with 26 racedays across the year, that still leaves 11 months to ‘sweat our asset’ as best we can. Coming up over the next few months, we will be holding our 2nd Oktoberfest, a Peter Pan Drone Show, our Annual Fireworks Display to 80s music and then a number of Christmas parties in December. If you are looking to hold a corporate event, such as a conference or away day for your staff, or a party to celebrate a particular milestone, then please do get in touch with our Sales Hub at yourvenuesouth@arenaracingcompany.co.uk We even have a Marriage Licence for our Riverbank marquee!
Returning to today’s theme, we are thrilled to have Absolute Country performing on the main stage, described as a ‘high-energy fusion of live musicians, vocalists, dancers and a DJ’ who together will deliver an electrifying set of country & western hits. We will also have our line dancers back by popular demand, plus a bucking horse for people to ride and hats for sale, so embrace your cowboy and cowgirl spirit for what promises to be a fantastic evening!
Thank you to all today’s race sponsors, we are hugely appreciative and I wish everyone a very enjoyable evening

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.
