WELCOME Welcome to Uttoxeter Racecourse for this Sunday afternoon fixture and a particular warm welcome and thank you to our sponsors today; F. Ball and Co. Ltd, Chloe Mediumship and QuinnBet.
I would like to thank you all for your understanding in September, the beautiful weather over the last few months unfortunately had a huge impact on the availability of water to water the track which led to the relocation of the 9th September. The Grounds Team have put in an epic effort to make sure the ground was safe to race on for the 15th September and we are delighted to be welcoming you today for another great day of racing at Uttoxeter Racecourse. We are delighted to host F Ball and Co Ltd in our 1907 Restaurant who are celebrating the 140 year anniversary and sponsoring several of the races today. Congratulations to everyone celebrating a special occasion today and good luck. The break has also seen us kick start the new development and improvement plans at the Racecourse. New toilets have been installed for the Paddock Boxes and Owners & Trainers, the Parade Ring Toilets are having a complete refit, and internal work has already started in the new Weighing Room. We have a lot more to come over the next 12 months and look forward to sharing the plans for each phase as we move through the process. Today we also welcome around 3750 students from surrounding Universities to Uttoxeter. For many this will be their first visit to ours or any racecourse. Future racing fans for the future, we hope to encourage more passionate followers of the sport that we all love. We still have some limited availability for Glitzmas Christmas Parties in December, if you haven’t already made your plans take a look at the exciting packages available on Raceday and non-Raceday’s for your festive celebrations. Our 2027 fixtures have been released, and all dates are now available to book. Next up is our Gents Day on the 16th October. With plenty of entertainment lined up, it’s one not to miss. On behalf of all the team here at Uttoxeter Racecourse, welcome, good luck and we wish you an enjoyable afternoon. Carrie Gillam Executive Director UTTOXETER RACECOURSE is part of Arena Racing Company which includes; Bath, Brighton, Chepstow, Doncaster, Ffos Las, Fontwell Park, Great Yarmouth, Hereford, Lingfield Park, Newcastle, Royal Windsor, Sedgefield, Southwell, Wolverhampton and Worcester racecourses; and Newcastle and Sunderland Greyhound Stadiums.

RACE SUMMARY
COUNTRY MILE has yet to have a clear shot at racing but he’s looked pretty talented on occasions and with his year-long absence no real concern given the yard he represents, he can get off the mark over fences. This trip is surely on the sharp side for O’Moore Park so chase debutant The Gray Ghost may chase the selection home.

UTTOXETER RACECOURSE DRUGS POLICY
HORSE AND JOCKEY WELFARE AT UTTOXETER Nothing matters more to us when racing than the safety and welfare of both horse and rider. Central to that is the track itself and our groundstaff do everything in their power to provide an optimum racing surface. On duty today we also have a dedicated and experienced team of highly-qualified Vets, Doctors and Paramedics following the action at every stage. Their key responsibility is to monitor and provide care to the competitors throughout their time at the racecourse. The locations and vehicle movements of these skilled specialists during racing are designed to provide a rapid response to any incident across the site. We also have a high-specification horse ambulance in attendance at every fixture to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital. It is our standard practice to erect screens around any horse or jockey requiring attention on the course as this provides privacy and a safe, calm environment in which to accurately diagnose and treat the patient as necessary. Please do not assume the worst if screens are erected around a horse. We are fully committed to minimizing risk in our sport, to dealing professionally and efficiently with any injury, and to maintaining the highest possible quality of care for the horses and jockeys racing here today. To find out more about our Equine Welfare policy, please visit our website https://www.uttoxeter-racecourse.co.uk/ 25

A case can be made for a few of these but TROPICAL TALENT looked the likely winner until hitting the last at Sedgefield last time and is weighted to make amends here. Holy Legend is enjoying a fine time of it this season and rates the chief threat in his bid for a fourth success from his last 5 outings, while chasing newcomer Playful Fox and the selection’s stablemate Dexter can also have a say in this competitive handicap.

RACE SUMMARY
BETTER OFF ALONE comes with risks attached but took a step forward on his return when third at Worcester and can gain a first success off a 2lb lower mark at the chief expense of C&D scorer Jo Arengeot Bey AA. Fane Court could also have a say given a second try over fences in this thin handicap.
