Uttoxeter Racecard - Friday 25th July

Page 1

Welcome to our 2025 Boots Opticians Uttoxeter Ladies Day and a very special welcome today to our sponsors, Boots Opticians Uttoxeter, Peter Stott Plant & Haulage, Julie Busst, 4 Oaks Group, QuinnBet and MC Cleaning.

Thank you for joining us today for a fun filled, action packed 8 racecard that has had an impressive 98 horses declared for today’s races.

As ever, for Ladies Day, we will be running our very popular Style Awards which has been kindly sponsored by Boots Opticians Uttoxeter. The style awards has prizes for the top 5 outfits picked out by our judges. Head up to the flower wall near the office to enter for a chance to get your hands on one of our many prizes including the top prize of £500 cash, a spa Day for 2, a Boots Optician voucher, A £200 Grace & Dotty voucher and a table for two in our 1907 restaurant for our Winters Ladies Day.

After racing, head down to the stage to watch our Mark Wright DJ set. Mark will be playing some classic tunes to get you dancing and singing along and I’m sure it will be a fantastic show.

Also, keep an eye out for TV legend Todd Carty aka “Mark Fowler” who will be roaming around the racecourse for meet and greet opportunities and helping us raise funds for Burton Albion Community Trust.

We quickly turn around this fixture for our next meeting on Sunday which is our ever popular Burton Albion Family Funday. There will be lots of entertainment to for the family including a fairground, inflatables, puppet shows, penalty shoot outs and much more. With Children under 18 having free admission, it really is a great value family day out.

This weekend see’s my last racedays here as Executive Director at Uttoxeter Racecourse before I move in to my group role as Regional Director. I would like to thank all of our customers and especially this amazing team that I have had the pleasure to work with during my tenure I am extremely proud of our achievements over the last 4 years during my stewardship.

I do have the pleasure to announce that Molly Day joins us today to take up the position of Executive Director Molly has vast racecourse experience behind her after stints as General Manager at Carlisle and Haydock racecourses and I’m certain she will be a huge success at Uttoxeter Racecourse. I am sure you will be joining me in wishing her well in her new role. All of us here at Uttoxeter Racecourse hope you have an enjoyable and safe day and thank you for joining us.

Good Luck!!

Central to that is the track itself and our groundstaff do everything in their power to provide an optimum racing surface. On duty today we also have a dedicated and experienced team of highly-qualified Vets, Doctors and Paramedics following the action at every stage. Their key responsibility is to monitor and provide care to the competitors throughout their time at the racecourse The locations and vehicle movements of these skilled specialists during racing are designed to provide a rapid response to any incident across the site. We also have a high-specification horse ambulance in attendance at every fixture to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital

It is our standard practice to erect screens around any horse or jockey requiring attention on the course as this provides privacy and a safe, calm environment in which to accurately diagnose and treat the patient as necessary. WESTERN CLOUDS has made a promising start to life over hurdles and remains open to further progress. She’s taken to follow up her recent Perth success over this shorter trip with Final Straw, who looked badly in need of the experience when fourth on hurdles debut, the main threat if making the anticipated improvement. Of the rest, Soul Limbo needs to put an underwhelming effort behind him but would have a chance on previous form.

HORSE AND JOCKEY WELFARE AT UTTOXETER

Nothing matters more to us when racing than the safety and welfare of both horse and rider. Central to that is the track itself and our groundstaff do everything in their power to provide an optimum racing surface On duty today we also have a dedicated and experienced team of highly-qualified Vets, Doctors and Paramedics following the action at every stage. Their key responsibility is to monitor and provide care to the competitors throughout their time at the racecourse. The locations and vehicle movements of these skilled specialists during racing are designed to provide a rapid response to any incident across the site We also have a high-specification horse ambulance in attendance at every fixture to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital

It is our standard practice to erect screens around any horse or jockey requiring attention on the course as this provides privacy and a safe, calm environment in which to accurately diagnose and treat the patient as necessary. Please do not assume the worst if screens are erected around a horse We are fully committed to minimizing risk in our sport, to dealing professionally and efficiently with any injury, and to maintaining the highest possible quality of care for the horses and jockeys racing here today. To find out more about our Equine Welfare policy, please visit our website https://www.uttoxeter-racecourse.co.uk/

All owners can enjoy 20 syndicate badges at all fixtures, on all ARC tracks*

All ARC Tracks operate dedicated and exclusive syndicate lounge facilities on racedays.

Upwardly mobile mare ROCKOLA looks capable of taking this 5lb higher mark in her stride after beating Lahinch Wave and five others at Worcester last month. She could be seen in an even better light here in what promises to be a strongly-run race. Liverpool Knight wasn’t beaten far when third in this race last year and he is second choice ahead of the lightly-raced Luckie Seven, while Getaway Drumlee and Gentleman Jacques are both capable of producing bold shows off their present marks.
